There is gutter in the resort and rooms are right next to gutter, lots of mosquitos in the resort. Management is too rude. If you raise issue with the management regarding the gutter and mosquitos, they will ask you to cancel the booking and vacate the room immediately.

One should visit beautiful Malpe beach but don’t stay at this place

Horrible experiences –
1. We drove whole night (from Bangalore) to reach the hotel at around 7.45 AM. Went to reception. There is no one asking us to seat or whether we need water (Amazing customer care I must say). We were told that all rooms are booked and we cannot get a room till 12 PM.
We asked for if there are any alternative as we were really very tired. No help from the hotelier. They took my phone number and said they would call me if anything is available. That call never came by the way. Great!!!

2. We were roaming around outside the hotel and the beach area. Came to the reception twice in between to check if a room is available. Answer is what can you guess? Yes right..it is not available sir . So finally we took sun bath ( :O yes…forced sun bath obviously) and then sea bath at Malpe beach and then we dried our cloths also in our car . Had some light food and went to the hotel reception at 11.55 AM. We thought we will get the room key at 12 PM and will crash in out rooms for the day. But wait, story continues.

3. At 12 PM, we went to the reception to get the room key. The ladies seating at the reception desk started looking at each other and mumbling something. Then we asked for the room again. Those ladies called another guy who told us that the room is not yet available. Then we started getting angry and within seconds the room ‘not available’ became ‘room not cleaned’. We argued with the manager and the statement became room will be available in another 5-10 mins. Honestly friends, I have been to many hotels with family and friends but I have never seen hotel with so much arrogance and unfriendly stuffs.

4. This time is was Make My Trip representative. When we were not getting room for more than an hour I called up the hotline number that MMT provided for any urgent help. First thing I heard was “Due to technical issues we cannot process now”. What the hell. Why hotline number then?? Finally somehow I got connected with a MMT executive and that lady after hearing my problem asked me to call back after 2 hours and she cannot help. What the hell again???

5. Ok. Now we have room key with us at 12.20 PM. Room 404. We booked Budget Suite Cottages (non-sea view). We got into a room that is part of the building behind the main hotel near the area where the stuffs are drying the hotel bed sheets and all. That building consist of 4 rooms I think. 2 in ground floor and 2 in 1st floor and I don’t know but some big machine (may be chiller or something like that) at 2nd floor. Now can anyone tell me if that can be called a cottage?

6. About the room now. The moment we entered the room, there was a very bad smell coming out. I had to tell the person who came with us to spray some perfume immediately. We did not want to get into the fight mode again with the manager for changing the room again as we were really tired and needed to get some sleep and never know if we would have asked for changing the room then we would have to wait for another 4-5 hours. So, we opened the curtains just to see the hanging bedsheets that were hanging to be dried. Thought keeping the curtains closed is better option. Entered the restroom and found that there is not ventilation there. No window. One ventilator was there but in sealed with a plywood. I was really surprised then.

Few good things –
1. Room service was good. Room service people were promt in action and well behaved.
2. The restaurant food test was very good. Even though it was very very costly. One plate steamed rice for 160 bucks? Unbelievable!!!
3. View from 1st floor breakfast area was good. The complimentary breakfast was kind of okay. Not much variety though. Should keep puri sabji at least. Here also I must mention that the breakfast area was very hot. Did not know what the stuffs were doing with 4-5 ACs there but that area was not at all getting cold. I guy got into an argument with the manager there in bearkfast area only as his small baby was keep on crying due to the hot weather in that breakfast area.

This is my feedback and I must say you should visit beautiful Malpe beach but don’t stay at this place.

Great location, good facilities, excellent breakfast

The resort is right on the beach, so we could sit on the beach enjoying the sea breeze at even 11 PM. The guests have access to the Swimming Pool and Indoor games of Paradise Isle Beach Resort which is the adjoining complex. The buffet breakfast (also at the Paradise Isle's Ocean View restaurant) was very good with a wide variety of south indian breakfast items. The spread was different on the two days that we stayed there. Room service was prompt. Overall a very good experience!

Fabulous Location, good value

The location of the Sea Front Cottages is superb, right next to the beach. The Restaurant/Bar within the Cottages annexe (Seashells) was very pleasant to sit in.
Room 511 is nice and spacious with plenty of places to store things, especially important if you are staying here for a longer period of time (we stayed 14 nights). The bed was large and comfortable. Room cleaning was ok.
Arun on Reception was magnificent. He sorted out a temporary transfer to the sister hotel - Paradise Lagoon, during the music festival in the neighbouring temple, which played music at rock concert volume 24/7 for a week.
The gardens around the cottages are very well cared for (better than the rooms in fact) and have some lovely plants and flowers. There are two gazebos which are very pleasant.
The food that we ate in Seashells was lovely, especially the Butter Garlic Prawns, but see other comments re choice of food available.
Although there were a number of things that were not good, I would still stay here again as the price (for Westerners at least) is exceptionally reasonable.

The choice of the food in Seashells was limited - although we later discovered that this was because the waiters were giving incorrect information. There are 2 kitchens, one is in the Paradise Island Hotel, to which the Cottages are essentially an annexe and the second, smaller one is part of Seashells restaurant. The menu reflects the choice across both kitchens, but we were misinformed about what was available in Seashells.
The bar menu was also very limited, e.g. no cocktails at all in Seashells.
The rooms were all a little shabby and unloved. For example, our mosquito screen above the door was not properly attached and our shower did not turn off properly.
There was only one lounger by the pool (in the main hotel). The others were all broken and had been dumped in a corner. When we asked for another one we were informed that there were no more and that the carpenter was coming the next day to repair the broken ones. Two weeks later this still hadn't happened!
We initially stayed in Room 512, but this was smaller than 511 and had only one power point, which had the bedside light plugged into it (useless in this electronic age!) and very little storage space. None of the cottages had a private terrace, which we really would have liked.
The waiters in the Ocean View restaurant (in the main hotel) at breakfast time were really quite lazy and/or poorly managed. They would stand around and chat even when there were numerous tables that required clearing. When the cups and plates were cleared the table was not cleaned, so unless you were first to breakfast you had to eat it amongst the crumbs and other food detritus of the previous occupants of the table - not a pleasant experience. We were not very impressed with the breakfast, but it is complimentary, so not going to complain.
Overall, the Paradise Island Hotel and the Sea Front Cottages give an air of a place that was once very nice and quite grand, but has sadly been allowed to deteriorate and become a little run-down.
