Decent service , clean rooms , reasonable parking space , roof top swimming pool are the key highlights of mammala inn. The roof top swimming pool is well maintained with a good beach view. The location of the hotel is also good . Walkable distace to the attractions.
A lovely hotel in a beautiful place
HT_2111on 14/03/2017 06:22I have visited Mahabalipuram on the 11th of March 2017. What they call it as Summers at this time, it was naturally quite hot outside. My trip was short (only single night stay) but we enjoyed it to the fullest.
This lovely yet big hotel, situated in such a nice location has everything to make your trip unforgettable and relaxing. The rooms powered by air-cons are enormous, furniture are new and washrooms are decent. Staff are very friendly, know English and treat you in a very polite way. The complimentary breakfast they serve is like an icing on the cake, particularly if you are into the local food such as Idli, Vada, and Pongal. They also serve a variety of fruits. I recommend to have it plenty here, as there are not many good hotels in the surroundings and one may end up spending heavily in search of good food. Also, it'd be an advice to have enough juices so as to keep you hydrated - the local shop owners in the area follow the malpractice of charging more than MRP.
It's proximity to almost every attraction in the city encourages you to do some walking exercise. In approximately 2 km radius, one can find several places to visit in Mahabalipuram. Shore temple and Arjuna's Penance are the nearest beauty spots.
Mamalla Inn also has a beautiful terrace swimming pool. One might like to spend some time of his day, relaxing in the swimming pool. You can also catch a sight of the wondrous Bay of Bengal and the skyward lighthouse right from the terrace.

Good hotel
Murali_blron 26/02/2017 18:08We booked this hotel in last minute through makemytrip assuming that it is mamalla heritage and we came to know mamalla Inn is different hotel after reaching Mahabalipuram.
However We checked in this hotel by 1pm. Don't expect a very charming welcome and also forget that your queries will be answered. Instead meet a questioned expression by them! Make sure you enquire about complimentary breakfast and in case with kids, put a word about the extra charges to avoid surprised bills on the extra charges for kids.
Parking space was also a compromise with first entry first parking theory. Swimming pool was moderately maintained with no resting chairs and no shelter. Kids will need constant monitoring as the pool in the terrace, could be planned better.
However the room was well maintained and spacious for family of four members. Kids had a comfortable space inside the room. Hot water was not an issue issue. Overall stay was good with few glitches. location was convenient to move around beach and Fort, light house etc.

Noha Aon 17/02/2017 04:38The hotel was a little hard to find at first since we arrived late in the night and it doesn't have a big sign on the mainroad. It's entrance is slightly off the main road.
No view from the room. But rooms and bathroom were clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Owner and his wife were very helpful and friendly.
It's location is very good situated next to the shore temple and all the other local temples. It is quite near to a road that has many restaurants and shopping bazars.
Breakfast was included. Had continental breakfast (toast butter and jam) and south indian breakfast. Most of the days we didn't have time to have breakfast but it was ok when we did.
It's a pretty basic place to stay but with big and clean rooms.
Budget Inn with all attractions nearby

Was nice place, Its a budget Inn & be prepared to climb bit of stairs as there is no lift :-) and my room was at 3rd floor. All attractions are at walking distance. Breakfast was just ok. It also has pool without lifegaurd. Overall average place for 1 day stay at budget price.
