Mannaas veedu is constructed as per Vasthu Shastra ( Science guidelines prescribed by the ancient Rishis ) where each moment of staying is memorable and peaceful. The House is constructed in Nalukeetu-is the traditional style of architecture of Kerala, wherein a house has a quadrangle in the centre. Nalukettu is evident in the traditional homes of the upper class homestead where customs and rituals were a part of life and we follow the same meticulously in Mannas Veedu. This ecofriendly mansion is created using wood, latrite stone and manglorian tiles, central open courtyard and wondrous architecture. The interiors of the house are tastefully decorated with a wealth of antiques made from teak, and mahogany etc.

What People are saying

Home from home

Siggyminton 17/08/2017 21:22

Welcomed by wonderful friendly staff, great home cooked food all the better picked fresh from their own garden, which I also loved spending time in,traditional massage available onsite at reasonable prices, and escorted excursions to the Hindu temple and elephant sanctuary, even a lesson in making chapati .Some may find it too quiet, I found it better than hotel standard with a personal touch and the all nature, natural aspect gives this jewel an edge.

Excellent homestay

There are no words to describe the place and it's people.
Host Aji, Ajesh, Remaya, Anil were wonderful.
The place is so good that it has a calming effect.Rooms are spacious and well provided for.
Enjoyed a real Homestay after many years. A home away from home.
Also the way they serve the food is indescribable.

Uncomfortable Stay!

Quiller810on 08/05/2017 09:42

This is a 'Homestay' and at first I thought I reallythought I was entering someone's house and that the very serious man who greeted us was the owner and the ladies his family. Then I realised that the ladies were just staff who ran the place.
I was not comfortable in this environment. Having 5 people standing and watching you eat was the strangest experience.
The only up side was that we got to visit the Aranmula temple, amazing, shame photography is not allowed. And saw how the metal mirrors were made.
Have to be honest after one night I couldn't wait to get away.

A rural gem

We chose this homestay for its location so that we would have an authentic, rather than touristy, experience. Alex greeted us warmly and we were shown to our lovely villa at the top of the property. We looked out into trees and a whole variety of birds visited together with a couple of dogs who loped by and a curious hen. We were very comfortable there and had so much space we were thoroughly spoiled. A member of staff escorted us to meals to begin with so that we were sure we could find our way around and the staff are attentive and friendly to a person.
Two different members of staff came with us and our driver to nearby places of interest to ensure that we knew what we were looking at.
We had a massage that was sublime and very reasonably priced. The food, as so many have said, was extremely good and always served with such attention and care. Alex's cooking demo was also much enjoyed.
An experience we would highly recommend.

A relaxing stay

SteveLichfieldon 11/02/2017 12:01

A lovely relaxing place to stay. All the staff are helpful and attentive. The room we had was airy and pleasantly decorated with an efficient on suite shower room. The food was typical of the area and provided a good insight into Keralan fare.

The nature of this homestay is to sample that life so given the loction do not expect to be able to easily walk into a village as it is quite isolated.

All in all a great stay which we would do again.
