Nice Stay With Great Views Of The Sunset

Russell Fon 10/06/2017 23:20

My wife and I booked an apartment here for a 6 night stay.

It was a little difficult to find as there are no sign posts signifying its location along the main road, but we eventually found it and Anna, the manager, was extremely helpful with suggesting places to go, things to see and where to shop and eat.

The complex is in a great position, just off the Main Road, and with a bus stop at the end of the street. You can walk everywhere form this location. We had a spa unit, which was on the first floor (no lift, so you have to carry your suit cases up some stairs) and had a superb view over the water and of the sunset. It was clean and spacious and nearly everything was provided. Some salt and pepper, olive oil and things like that would have been nice though. All the units look over the pool area, which is quite pleasant.

The units are serviced every day, accept the cleaning staff took it upon themselves to rearrange some of your belongings. Bathroom stuff we split up to his/her piles were neatly combined together, food/wine etc put out on kitchen benches for easy access were moved to different locations to create more bench space. Bags moved from one side of the room to the other. Didn't really bother us, but that is the first time we have had that happen to us anywhere in the world. Apart from that, they did an excellent job. Towels replaced every day and everything spic and span. They were very, very thorough!!

Free car parking on site was a bonus.

Internet was at times very, very slow....probably the slowest we have seen anywhere for a long time. Got to the point where I put my iPad away and try again a couple of hours later. But I think that may be common for the area as we knew someone staying closeby and their wifi was slow as well.

Quirky things -
- No visitors are allowed in the units or on the common ground, especially the pool. They must remain at reception if they attend the premises
- there were no dining table or chairs in our unit...they are outside on the patio. Which would be nice if the weather was conducive for this, but during our stay, it was very cool and if we were dining in, we had to sit on the bed and have our meals. There was room in the unit to fit a small table and chairs so I am not too sure why there wasn't one
- washing of clothes is forbidden. Not too sure why this rule is in, but after traveling around Europe for three weeks, this rule was never going to be abided by!!!
- there was a loft area in the unit, which really wasn't of any use, accept to put our empty suitcases up there out of the way.

Great choice in Oia!

We made a booking only 2 weeks in advance and were thrilled to find a very clean & comfortable room at Maria's Place. There was plenty of space & the kitchenette was super nice to have for morning coffee & breakfast. The nespresso machine was a real treat (there was also an electric kettle, fridge & microwave). Our room opened onto a balcony overlooking the pool. We appreciated the quiet of the area & it was an easy walk into center of Oia.
When we arrived, Anna provided us with maps and lots of tourist info. She suggested some wineries to visit as well as several options for boat tours of the caldera. After speaking with her, we arranged our itinerary for 4 days & accomplished everything on our list.
Highly recommend this place.

Excellent value

Oia can be expensive so this was a great find, 5 min walk into the centre, although rooms may be typical Greek, the accomodation is spotlessly clean, pool is great, all very peaceful. Anna and her team are just fantastic, we would recommend, in fact hope to go back.

Cannot fault it

I stayed here for a week this month and everything was perfect. The room had everything we needed and a beautiful sunset view, the pool area was great, Maria was so attentive and helpful throughout our stay and it was in the perfect location - right in the middle of Oia but away from the crowds. The room was cleaned every day and totally exceeded expectations for the price

Perfect stay. We felt like home.

The hotel lies 5 minutes walk from the wonderful and picturesque Oia, we had a studio facing the pool, everyday the room was being cleaned and towels changed, all comforts and private parking. There is the possibility of having breakfast which comes as extra. We stayed one full week and did not miss some of the restaurants which are just a few minutes away. Anna is a wonderful host, she sincerely took good care of our stay, she explained and gave us many tips on the first day, she kept having us and the other guests as priority.
Thanks Anna, also on behalf of our little Princess!
