Felt unsafe on the 'balcony'
Amy Mon 17/07/2017 21:14One night stay @ Marine View. Whole place needs a face-lift. Room very outdated. Lovely leather chair. Main reason for booking Marine View was the Balcony listed on the booking site. I felt extremely silly standing out on the 'balcony' it's nothing more than a decorative edge to the building with a railing around it. No room for a table and small chairs which would have made it a touch more bearable. I felt like there should have been a safety sign saying not to go out there because it's not structurally sound but there was nothing. Just us pressed against the building trying not to look down and enjoy the view at the same time. I think they need to alter their listing because I was very disappointed to not actually have a balcony to sit on. Along with the outdated decor in the room and rock hard bed, I was most disappointed. Staff that we saw were friendly. But I won't be staying again or recommending to anyone.

kay hon 26/06/2017 09:50The Marine View hotel is in a fantastic location, conveniently placed for the main town, marina and pier. The hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating. We were able to check out and leave our luggage until we were ready to go home. The breakfast isn't big enough to accomodate all the guests at the same time, so some had to come back later.

Lovely little hotel. Great friendly host. Got a call to Confirm my arrival.
Here on business. Asked for an iron that didn't arrive but I got in late so understandable. Had to leave early for work. I realise this is mostly a holiday town so guests would like a latter breakfast. So understand this too.
The hotel was spotless. Clean warm good size room with good WiFi connection. Very tastefully decorated. Lots of thought has gone into this. Not sure why I have never been here before as I am a regular visitor to Brighton. Maybe it has always been booked out. Would not surprised me. A stunning venue. Priced spot on.
I would definately return.
Mixed feelings

Positives; the host Richard is very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and nicely laid out. We had an amazing view of the sea and pier from our top floor room, and the guesthouse location was perfect, i.e. walking distance to all the local attractions. Wifi in the room was fine.
Negatives; the décor and fittings are dated, the en suite shower / toilet room was tiny, and breakfast was only served for 1 hour.
The room cost far too much for what it is, but for the positives I mentioned above I am able to overlook that.
Value for the money
Nicki Won 09/11/2016 20:41Last minute booking! Good value for money - room was dated but bathroom was very clean (and I'm a fussy so and so) and I really checked. The sheets on the bed were spotless, there was a collection of dust behind the TV but anyone would think I'm on 4 in the bed lol :))
Breakfast was basic however the owner was very genuine, attentive, warming and friendly all you could ask for really!
Overall our stay was fab. Thanks 😃😃
