Tired and out of date
Catriona Hon 11/07/2017 20:44The staff were very friendly but unfortunately the hotel is very tired and dated. The beds were not comfortable and sheets rough. The place actually smelled a little musty. Definitely needs updating.
Executive lounge small and cramped.
Enjoyable birthday stay, great views
SnorkelPantson 11/07/2017 17:15We particularly enjoyed the sunsets and views across Glasgow from the 9th floor. Turns out Glasgow is surrounded by low hills. It is true the room and bathroom feel a little tired as some other commenters have said but still clean and comfortable with a large bed. Initially we found the room very stuffy even though it was a cool summer day and it was much improved by leaving the window open whenever we were out.
The fridge was too noisy to leave on but as it was cool we didn't need to use it. There didn't appear to be any air-conditioning or ventilation controls in the room.
The sauna was hotter than ones I've used before so didn't stay in long, enjoyed a swim in a pretty warm pool.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and very efficient at bringing us more teabags and helping with travel advice.
Lovely staff but dated rooms
Vickay Mon 11/07/2017 15:19The staff were extremely nice and helpful but I was very disappointed with the rooms that were completely outdated - can't believe this is a 4 star - paid £650.00 for 3 nights and 1 room seems ridiculous. Also no free wifi?
3 day stay
Kate Ton 10/07/2017 16:27Just left today and would say this is average at best. There were 3 of us sharing and walked into a room with two double beds... not what we booked but hey ho- bare able. What I don't understand however is why a room which clearly can cater for up to 4 people and is booked and paid for by 3 only has 2 sets of towels, cups, coffee etc!!! Very strange. Staff were lovely particularly the girl on front desk with dark curly hair. However we must've had a new starter who took our payment for the car as upon check out we were offered our '£30 deposit' back??? The £30 was for 3 days parking so will be very interested to see if we get fined. The cleaners are also very rude, loud and impatient! We had one try to walk in THREE times this morning after saying we were still in and that we were checking out! Also my flannel got stolen I'm guessing they thought it was their own... not really impressed by that either. All in all very average stay!
Urgent - Please renovate immediately.
Neil914on 09/07/2017 14:36I checked into this room and checked out in less than an hour. First let me tell you how nice the staff are and how they really try to accommodate. That said this property is dated, tired looking dusty and dirty. I travel a lot and value concentrating my points, but I just could not stay in this property with its bad air conditioning horrible rooms dusty vents and just overall tired sloppy appearance. There's a place where there was a refrigerator one time that was screwed shut. I did happen to pry it open and found the old refrigerator there covered in a layer of dust. See pictures below. If the manager is gonna reply to this and tell me how you value my Feedback and you will try to improve this place, just stop here now and iadmit that this property is in really bad need of investment. Does not live up at all to the minimum standards you would see at any Marriott.
