Real gem next to the sea

If you want action, nightclubs and active beach life, Ma-Tzi in not a place for you but if you appreciate privacy, closeness to the sea and quietness, it is just perfect!

The road ends to the hotel so there is very little traffic around. Usually you can only hear the waves hitting the beach and the cicadae "singing" from the nearby trees.

Hotel rooms, pool and the garden are all clean and well maintained, and the host Maria is super friendly person who really takes care of her clients.

While Platanias has become kind of a holiday ghetto, Gerani is still a quiet small village with basic services, good eateries and good tranport connections to Chania and Kissamos.

30 meters to the sea.

Very affordable hotel a bit outside all other tourist hotels.

Very nice option if you want to experience a little more than the classic tourist options. Experienced staff.30 meters to the sea.
Near bus connection to Chania.

Perfekt for u that like more privacy. Very nice clean room. Can hear and see the sea just outside. Dark nice room when put down the blindes. We sleept like babies. Lidl 15 min Walk away. But have more expensive small shopes near by.
Good conections to Platanias. About 20 min to Walk. Nice pool and very nice people that run the place. Got a free book (Mr Mercedes by Steven King from them)
The Appartments are on the beach that is not Sandy but private. It was was pebble Stone beach.

Lovely island experience

The hotel is wonderfully located just by a secluded beach and offers a spacious pool. The area is extremely quiet and relaxed. The family who runs the place is warm and helpful. Parking is easy and just outside the gate.
Would be good to know in advance that there are no pool towels offered, so get your own or bring from home. Also the kitchen is full functioning but a bit under-equipped, so if you don't want to end up with a 2 liter bottle of olive oil, arrange these things in advance.

Recommended and will be visited again!

Quiet right on the beach

This hotel is in Platanias, near Chania on the North West Coast of Crete, on a quiet stretch of beach, with no big crowds, even in July.
We had a bit of bad luck as there was was a problem with the A/C, but I have to say the charming owner gave us a chance to switch rooms (which we did not do because we were too tired)
The room was decorated in ' old Greek' style and was charming and large, with a balcony facing the pool and the sea.
The wi-fi was so-so. A lot of parking. No restaurant in the hotel but a nice friendly one, Mythos, nearby.
