Paulinet1on 14/08/2017 19:41Mercure is a great and central place to stay, right next to the train station. Most of the staff were very helpful apart from the grumpy barman on Sunday night. Would recommend. Nijmegen has lots of bars and restaurants and only an hour and a half from Schipol.

deepblupondon 10/08/2017 06:04This was my second time staying at this hotel. I had a Privilege Room with a great view of the train station next to the hotel. Room was perfect and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful too. I will definitely stay at Mercure again on my next visit.
Ideal Experience
Elizabeth Hon 08/08/2017 22:03I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights while attending a training. It was a great place to stay, and I felt very safe as a woman traveling alone. It's a 2 minute walk to the train station and local bus depot. The station has an ATM, small grocery store, Starbucks, food options, book store, and toiletry shop. It's a 10 minute walk into town to more shopping and restaurants. Nijmegen is a really pleasant, safe city to visit.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It was great to have a small fridge and a safe in the room. The windows opened so I could have fresh air or use the air conditioning. The curtains were "black-out" so I could get rest and adjust to the time zone. The free wifi signal was very strong. I barely heard any sounds from other guests nearby or the train station. The hotel offers laundry service, but I prefer to do my own. There is a good laundromat in less than a 10 minute walk.
The complimentary breakfast was great. They offered hot and cold options. The food was fresh and good quality. I loved the fresh-squeezed orange juice machine! The dining room had a nice design and was very comfortable. The hotel had a good restaurant and bar/lounge to relax.
The staff were very helpful- I will definitely stay there again.
Very Accommodating and Comfortable
Leslie Jon 19/07/2017 22:57I had a terrific experience with Mercure. My husband and I were at the train station about the leave Nijmegen when he got very, very ill and was unable to travel. We went to Mercure and they were able to secure rooms for us even though the were full and we did not know how long we would have to stay for him to recover. Also, the restaurant was so accommodating as I working in the restaurant during the day and they even saved my space when I came down for dinner - same table and same beverage -- very thoughtful.
This was so appreciated in what was a very stressful and unexpected situation -- we could have been stranded without nearby accommodation and instead we were in a warm and welcoming environment that helped him recover much more quickly.

Fitje1612on 07/07/2017 23:20This hotel always feels a little like home. Wonderful staff whom are genuinely interested in you. The rooms are spotlessly clean & recently renovated with loving care. Great beds and a good shower meant we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. The lady at breakfast went out of her way to look after every guest. An extra coffee or a glass of fresh orange juice, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast offers something for everyone, with a wide range of fresh and healthy products. We felt special and always do when we stay here.
