Great Getaway
bronco0828on 02/06/2017 23:40We loved our stay here. The room was neat and clean. The courtyard was beautiful. We bought a great bottle of wine in the restaurant and hid ourselves away in the courtyard. It was calming. It was quiet. The waterfall was soothing. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. This is our new favorite getaway place!!!
Secret Getaway in Boulder City
Linda Son 18/05/2017 17:59This place is a hidden gem! The room was beautiful, hidden upstairs from the restaurant beside a lovely courtyard complete with pond inhabited by turtles and goldfish. The room had a large jaccuzi with fluffy towels and a padded mat, a fireplace, and a very comfortable bed. Included breakfast was outstanding, all homemade. Highly recommended.
Not for our taste and badly described - Consider carefully whether this is the experience you are looking for before boo
david hon 01/05/2017 02:26We arrived at about 4pm in the afternoon. The location was easy to find although there was no easy parking.
Check in was straightforward and the lady that checked us in was friendly enough. She showed us to the room (we had the room described as Tuscany, although for the life of me I cannot determine how it got that description). The first thing that struck us was the fact that you have to walk past the rubbish bins to get to the room and get out of the room onto the street. However, this was before we entered the room and encountered the overwhelming smell. I'm not sure what it was but if it was intended to be there, it was misplaced because it was awful.
The next thing to notice (and really cannot miss) is the fact that the bathroom and the bedroom are all one with the toilet off in a small unpleasant cupboard in the corner with a fan that generates hurricane force wind sounds although does not seem to achieve much. The room cannot be accurately described as ensuite, there is a bath with a shower attachment which cannot be used as a shower because there is nowhere to place it and no shower curtain. If you are a couple that still likes to maintain privacy then this would be impossible in this room unless one of you left. This is by far and away the biggest problem with the room and this should be made much clearer in the advertisement.
There is a TV in the room but the screen was no bigger than the one on my laptop and it was set nearly into the roof so only those with 20/20 vision or binoculars could have made any use of it.
Once we had seen the room we immediately left the hotel and considered whether or not just to move elsewhere for the night but decided to just stay and leave as soon as possible in the morning.
The room felt dowdy and dark and needs renovation (and a bathroom). Whilst the fire was not needed it appeared not to work. The wifi worked for about 20 minutes and despite asking about it, it appeared not to work for the remainder of our stay.
The sheets on the bed also felt cheap compared to those we have experienced on the rest of the trip in various other hotels and the bed was comparatively, very small. The hotel was quite quiet and we did managed to get a night's sleep (although we were up and out at 7am, on a Sunday!). We did not stay for breakfast so disappointed were we with the experience so we cannot comment on that.
All in all this was not for our tastes and seemed awfully expensive for the product actually delivered.
Think carefully before booking. We did not raise these issues with the management whist at the inn as there was little that could be done other than refund the money and for us to move elsewhere which would have been unfair on the hotel given I am sure that there are many travellers who would appreciate the experience. That said, we would recommend that they carefully check the description so that other, less accommodating travellers are not put in the same position.
Tired, needs work, lack of maintenance
manuel95on 23/04/2017 21:14If you want to sleep, do not book the Bordeaux room. The high powered kitchen vent is attached to this room. Turned off at 10pm the first night, but then on all night during our second night stay. Sounds like a 747 in the room. When we complained they said, "you should have called us". How, no phone in the room and no cell phone. Wind caused something on the deck above our room to bang on the roof all night long. Breakfast not a "champagne breakfast" as advertised. Small portions, one measly, mediocre muffin. Back door alley entrance to our room past smelly large dumpsters. This place needs help!
Fantastic place!
grilclnron 05/04/2017 23:54Friendly, quiet, clean, comfortable B&B. Wonderful Inn Keeper and delicious meals. Sweet wine selection too.
We had jetted tub and fire place.
Outside our room was a pond with waterfall. The ombionce is quoint and romantic. They offer complementary bicycles too.
Would highly recommend!!
