What People are saying

Great destination, perfect to chill

Sumit2008on 13/07/2017 05:15

Brilliant place to travel with friend and family. Not yet commercialized. Full of greenery and fresh air. In the morning you will spot some beautiful birds. During the month of June/july due to rain the nature comes out with all its color and charisma.
Mukteshwar Himalayan Resort is one of the best place to stay. This resort is 7 km before Mukteshwar.Nice rooms. Staffs are very helpful and courteous.

We , a group of 22 ,age between 78 to 12,visited Mukteshwar in june 17.We stayed at Mukteshwar Himalayan Resort...truly a great property to stay. Though it is not some star level but rooms are decent and the owner and the resort are most cooperative amongst those we had met till date. The food served was outstanding..at-least for the charges we paid.As it was a big group and you expect some hang-ups from hotel side but they managed all our requirements very well...Small suggestion a tea/coffee maker may also be provided...though tea etc was provided whenever requested for...

Decent but nothing more

Me and a male friend made this our home for three nights and had a relatively pleasant stay.

The room alloted to us at first was rather stale - in appearance as well as the general feel of it. It was clean but because of the decor - or some unidentifiable reason - we did not like it. Of course, that it was bang above the main reception area - visible from the windows - was a no go.

We requested for a change in room and the staff and owner were politely reluctant. The entire trip was salvaged when the owner showed us a much smaller room on the top floor - the only room there. We thought the room was better marginally. What worked extremely well though was the entire terrace of the hotel right in front of the room.

The rest was absolutely brilliant. The view from the terrace on all four side was absolutely sublime. We ended up spending most parts of the day, afternoon and evening there - going to the room for only the essentials of sleeping, bathing and loo.

The food here comes as the second best highlight. The chicken is one of the best we have ever had while everything else we tried was great too. Let them know a bit in advance so that they can have time to arrange for products from the market.

So, while the rooms may not have been great, the really courteous staff and the excellent food, coupled with an absolutely fantastic view more than made up for everything. Still, giving it average rating because rooms are what largely count.

Memorable stay

We visited this facility from 4 to 8 June 2017. We were 10 family members consisting of 6 adults and 4 kids... Honestly speaking we were a little apprehensive even after booking our rooms as this was our first visit to mukteshwar and despite numerous great reviews, we were not sure what to expect in terms of facilities and comfort.. we have travelled to many locations both in India (and abroad in my case). We know how things turn out to the contrary of claims made on travel and hotel web sites. But the good news is- MHR didn't disappoint at all..In fact it bowled us over completely !! We were booked (1 family and 3 super deluxe rooms) in the newer Gurvesh block..I read in some reviews that this block is on the other side of the road.. NO..not true.. it's just adjacent the main building and houses even bigger and luxurious rooms having heavenly views from every room. So, guys don't get swayed by untrue accounts and if rooms in Gurvesh block are available, just lap them up...The boys in the staff are polite and helpful... Aman ji who was overseeing the manager's role was very helpful and always at hand... Nagendra ji is the owner of MHR and you just have to meet him to believe in the great words everyone say for him. Comes across as a thorough gentleman and is always sports a kind and gentle smile.. he provides valuable insight into the local places and their history and geography... You can come here without any prior planning and Nagendra ji will make an itinerary for you in a matter of minutes. We were in touch right from the day I made the booking and uptill our last day of tour...A word about the food.. It is really great and made and served with a lot of love... Our family and especially young children simply adored this place. They have a nice little play area having a TT table, carrom board, ludo and chess. We always had tear our kids away from the TT table to go to bed or leave for our excursions. The beds and linen were clean. Bathrooms were big and nice.. hot water is available all the time.. Loved the place very much.. cannot forget that rainy evening when we all sat in the big family room and savoured heavenly pakodas and piping hot tea and hot chocolate...They don't have internet but we didn't mind...one can live without WiFi for three four days when you have chosen the quiet and solitude of the Mukteshwar mountains.... Love you MHR and way to go Nagendra ji .. will definitely return and return...

Rendezvous with nature and Himalaya

We started out journey from Nainital at 11:00 am and we took 2 stoppage where one stop was around 1 hour so it took 3 hours to reach here and it was like wow after seeing room and this property. It was around 5-6km away from Mukteshwar temple but it is damn good. A very good park offer you to spend very good time. I saw apples on the tree which were so small because it took 6-7 months to get into full size. I saw peaches on the tree and one of the local man was offering 7.5kg of INR 300.

Hotel staffs were excellent but food was bit at costly side. Though, the overall Panasonic view of the mountains from this hotel overcomes the price tag.

I believed that one should opt this property because it offers you road which bound to dhanachuli (another tourist spot) and you can pass very closely to bhimtal if you choose dhanachuli route to return back to Delhi.

Avoid roaming in night because you may encounter wild animals here. For old people, avoid walk as it forces on your oesophagus and increases your breath inhaling or exhaling speed. In high altitude, body need more time for acclimatization. Fatigue is normal here so do not worry.
