Great hotel in Prenzlauerberg
SusanLLosAngeleson 11/08/2017 04:16We stayed at Myer's for several nights in July. The hotel is in a great location on a lovely tree shaded street. It is close to many restaurants, bars and cafes, a half block from the tram and two blocks from the U-Bahn.
We originally booked a Business room but chose to change to a smaller Comfort room. The larger room was more like a small suite but had an odd configuration and faced an inner wall of the hotel. The Comfort room, #95 was much brighter, faced the front and was a lovely room. The bed was very comfortable.
The included breakfast buffet was outstanding - one of the best we have ever enjoyed. In good weather you have the option to sit outside in a lovely garden. The staff in the breakfast room were all very accommodating and friendly.
The staff at the front desk were all very helpful, if a bit reserved.
Myers Hotel
Villy Oon 09/08/2017 13:51The location is both central and quiet, the staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are handsome and clean, and the atmosphere seems luxurious and relaxed at the same time. It is like visiting a really good hotel for about a century ago. Delicious brunch buffet in tasteful surroundings. Lounge with beautiful lamps. Little green garden, occasionally with small squirrels hopping around in the trees. Thank God there is no fitness room at Myer's! The only thing we could wish for, is facilities to make a cup of coffee or tea in our hotel room, when we in the evening come back from exploring Berlin.
Nice hotel, great neighborhood
ElsieHColoradoon 08/08/2017 05:05My daughter and I spent two nights at the Myer's Hotel, and were pleased with the room and especially liked the neighborhood. The hotel is quite old, but our room was clean and the bathroom was updated. The entryway has really cool art, and the hotel has high ceilings and beautiful woodwork throughout. The best part about the hotel is the location -- a very short walk to the train, and the surrounding neighborhood has tons of great restaurants and cafes, and a really nice vibe. It's also a (longish) walk to the Berlin Wall Memorial and other tourist sites. I thought the breakfast was good but not noteworthy. My only complaint is that most of the staff were unfriendly. The night desk clerk was super nice and friendly, but the daytime clerk was just the opposite; I've found this typical of people in Germany, as well as in Spain, France and Italy -- it's likely a cultural thing, but as an American I'm used to people in business and retail situations being more friendly, and it leaves a negative impression when people are not. Conversely, when someone is nice like the night clerk, it is really noteworthy and makes a positive impact. All in all though, a nice place to stay, and I do recommend.
A few days in Berlin
Leeds34on 29/07/2017 22:55Fabulous hotel with the most accommodating staff. Each room is individually decorated in a classic old world style with extremely comfortable beds. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The breakfast staff are wonderful, we were a party of 5 and the waitress Karen reserved a table for us each morning. Reception staff were really helpful and happy to help in any way they could. They even provided us with an iron and ironing board, as these are not in the rooms. They also sell travel passes, so you don't have to worry about change when using the U Bahn or trams. I have been to Berlin many times and this has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful service and a conveniently situated location
Samantha Hon 27/07/2017 20:59A group of 5 of us stayed at Myer's from 23rd - 26th July and were very happy with our stay. On arrival we were checked in promptly and with efficient service. Our room were clean and comfortable and (most importantly for us) air conditioned. If you are looking for a hotel with modern decor then this isn't the hotel for you. We however, loved the more traditional decor and felt very comfortable there. The highlight for us was the service we received from the lady who worked in the breakfast room (I believe her name is Karen). She made us all feel very welcome and was attentive and friendly...on our 2nd morning she even made up a table for us that would seat us all together. The breakfast offers a wide choice of pastries, bread, cold cuts of meat and cheese, eggs, cereal, fruit etc, along with tea coffee and fruit juices. The hotel is situated 3 tram stops away from Alexanderplatz which makes for super easy travel around Berlin.
Overall I would say that we would happily recommend Myer's to anyone travelling to Berlin.
