DrewBkon 16/07/2017 19:57Lets not make any bones about this hotel, it is dated, run down, old fashioned, but, it is in a great location, it is cheaper than nearby hotels, and the, included, breakfast is great. We booked this very last minute, and after reading the reviews was unsure what to expect, but it is not as bad as we thought. It is not a 4 star hotel, but it does the job. Lovely and close to the sea front and the pier, but away from stuff to be not noisy. The staff were friendly enough and helpful, the room was ok, windows a bit dirty, but otherwise all ok. We would stay again, if cheap enough.
Will not be returning!
R311985on 11/07/2017 11:03On arrival to the hotel we checked in and was asked to pay there and then which I found quite odd. We got our keys and made our way to our room on the top floor. On opening the door to our room we were immediately hit with the most overpowering smell of stale smoke and cigarettes. It literally smelt like someone had smoked 40 fags with the window shut. We went back down to the person on reception to complain, but he was not interested in the slightest and just said it must of been the people who were in there previously! not even an apology or offer to move room! Our room was dated and unclean with cigarette ash all down the side of the bed where the room had not been cleaned properly. The lock on the door was not secure and continuously rattled every time there was a slight draught, which was annoying especially when trying to sleep. The beds were uncomfortable and I regrettably looked under the sheet at the mattress which made me feel sick. The view from our window looked out onto the back of the hotel and adjoining buildings so was quite dark. There was a strong smell of what can only be described as maggots outside of the window and lots of pigeon excrement. The bathroom was tiny with the sink outside of the bathroom, the shower door was broken which meant water went all over the floor every time it was used. The controls on the shower did not work so it was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Breakfast was a complete shambles with the person taking our order unable to understand what we were asking for. The full English was disgusting, 1 very suspect sausage, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 mushroom, half a tomato and a teaspoon of beans. On the second morning the beans had not even been cooked, they were stone cold so we left and ate elsewhere. Whilst I understand that this is not a boutique or luxury hotel, basic expectations, cleanliness and standards are not met and I certainly will not be looking to return here in the future!
Flea Pit
Sarah Won 06/07/2017 00:13Having read mixed reviews and not having a fortune to spend we decided to take a chance and booked to stay this week.
On arrival the Hotel looked shabby and worn.
We checked in and paid and was told our room number.
The room on initial judgement was clean and tidy but it soon became apparent that we had rise specs on. The electrics weren't working and so being disabled I called reception only to not get and answer. My husband went downstairs and sure enough they were ignoring the phone having a chat.
They sent a guy up to flick the fuse box on as it sometimes trips !!
After being in the room 10 mins we checked the bathroom out.
The flooring was peeling away from the shower base, the toilet leeked sewerage everyone you flushed. The light above the sink was hanging off.
The furniture in the room was warn and the laminate peeling off it.
The curtains were shabby with moth holes.
The windows were filthy and had weeks of dirt and dried flies . The sash window was broken.
The carpet was filthy.
On a plus side the bed sheets and towels were clean.
To top it all off ive come home with numerous bites around my ankles. I though gnats but have since been told they are flee bites.....
Needless to say we didn't try the included breakfast.

claire bon 01/07/2017 12:13Security on this room very poor. Inside lock did not work and catch very flimsy. Wouldn't take much pressure on the door for it to be forced open. Miss matched furniture. Drawer handle broken. Carpet very worn. Room smells dusty. Pointless red feature wall which goes with nothing else in the room. Only up side is bed was comfortable. And towels bed sheets very clean. Breakfast also good but times not very good if you are on holiday and wish to have a layin. Cost I paid for 3 nights £114. I don't think it is worth this. People on reception very friendly and helpful.

Lala Mon 30/06/2017 22:58First impression was that the hotel was more like a boarding house of old.... very shabby. The interior didnt improve. All of the carpets on the way up to my room needed a bloomin good hoover. The walls had 3/4 of a coat of paint...finishing where they couldn't apparently reach!
The room was tiny and although i could see the sea if i climbed on the bed, the rest of the room was shabby ..linen was clean though.
The bed was creaky and had springs poking through which made for 2 very uncomfortable nights.
The shower refused to work properly... taking nearly 10 minutes to produce hot water..and then it got so hot , it was i possible to stand underneath it.
Kettle provided but on my 2nd day after returning from a day at work, the dirty cup , water glass was still there ...i asked whether my room had been forgotten about and was told that they only clean every 2 days. I requested a clean cup and teabags and milk..i was told to leave all the dirty items in the room.
The reception was manned for a few hours in the evening so far as i could tell, so any issues had to wait til someone appeared.
Breakfast didnt impress either. I asked for toast beans and tomato..which was luke warm at best. I went elsewhere for day 2.
I know it wasnt too expensive however i still think thst their should be a certain level of hospitality even with a budget hotel.
