What People are saying

A nice gem in the big city.

I came by the Colonial as it was where the tour group I was with was staying and we were leaving from that space. I decided to stay for that reason and I'm glad I did. I was nervous about the shared bathroom situation but it was never a problem for the three days I was there. I thought having a free breakfast each morning was a great addition because it got me up and out the door quickly to go tour the sites without first having to find a breakfast place. The room was small but it was just me and really how much time was I going to stay in the room anyway. I'm there to tour NYC. The finishes in the room were nice and the place was super clean. Even the shared bathroom was clean each time I used it. Chelsea is a great area and this hotel is right there blocks from the the Chelsea Market and the Highline. Also very easy to take the subway to other places.

A great place to stay

I really enjoyed my stay at the Colonial House Inn. It's a cozy, charming, colorful place. They offer free breakfast and a free happy hour every day, and there's a clothing-optional roof deck! Making my reservation was easy, as was check-in and check-out. I was truly sad to leave.

Beyond satisfied!

Overall experience was soothing and relaxing as if a hotel shall feel! I was very pleased with staffing from the moment me and my guest stepped foot! Pleasant demeanors from every staffing member! Will be back for another awesome experience!

Relaxed atmosphere and charming surroundings

Colonial House Inn is situated in a very nice quarter of Manhattan with lots of small restaurants, shops and close to the subway. The hotel is charming with rooms placed on several small floors (without a lift). Some of the rooms are with a shared bathroom and toilet on the same floor, and I stayed in such a room, but it was with no inconvenience. I can warmly recommend Colonial House Inn to everyone who looks for a nice and relaxed place to stay in the center of NYC to a reasonable price.

Great little hotel!

We found this to be an ideal place to stay in New York. The rooms are small but clean and quiet. The whole place has a European feel, with a very nice breakfast and good coffee. It is situated on a tree-lined street within walking distance of the High Line, the Whitney and lots of restaurants.
