What People are saying

Food great, meeting room great but hotel Rooms leave a lot to be desired

Valerieschoenon 05/06/2017 13:20

Stayed for two nights for 3 days of meetings. The meeting room staff were excellent and moved furniture around for us immediately after the request. The food in the sabot restaurant was excellent and the morning and afternoon break snacks had a large variety and very good.
But the hotel rooms were not 4stars worth. The first room I had was very hot (air did not circulate) and when I went to open the windows they were dirty, the space between the two sets of windows had dead bugs and dirt. The bathroom floor was not totally clean. They were very kind in changing my room, which was in the 1400 numbers and much better than the first, but still a bit worn out.
For the price (around 70-80 euros/night it might be worth it, but I'm hoping they renovate.

Like sleeping at the airport. Much better places now for your congress

JonathanMarkson 04/06/2017 13:42

Unless you have to attend a congress in this hotel, there are much much nicer places to stay in the tulip-growing area around Lisse. This former monastery from the 1960's now caters for congresses up to 2000 persons, with 123 meeting rooms. I found the hotel room to be small (especially the bathroom) with no air conditioning. It was stuffy on a hot evening in June. There were no drinks machines or ice on my floor. You had to take a lift and a five minute walk back to the reception area. There is nothing to do in the area in the evenings, except perhaps the wok and casino bar next door.

As a conference hotel, I was baffled by the fact that all the details I had filled in on-line were not available to reception staff. Check-in involved a lot of unnecessary form filling, even though I have stayed in a NH hotel before. There were long lines of people behind me when two coaches arrived with conference goers.

I paid my bill in advance so I could check-out quickly in the morning - only to discover the next day that they hadn't heard of express-checkout and irritated staff wanted me to wait in line to hand in a key. I declined. Strange that a congress hotel is incapable of dealing with the ebb and flow of congress groups.

Free wifi was crippled. So not much bandwidth for you. Not fast enough if you want to download a Powerpoint presentation.

Good value breakfast. But the rest was rather disappointing.

Very pleasant stay

We stayed here as part of a package that included tickets to Keukenhof. This is a very large hotel/conference centre but it is divided into separate wings so at no time did it feel very noisy or busy. We had a car and were able to park in the large hotel car park but bicycles are available for hire. We dined in the hotel on the first night (part of our package, average food, buffet) but the breakfasts we ate were excellent with a good selection of constantly replenished food and an egg station where your eggs are cooked to order. The hotel is located in the bulb growing area and although the field outside our bedroom had just been cut there were still beautiful flowers in bloom in the fields outside the hotel entrance. If you have transport there are restaurants a short drive/cycle away but without transport you are restricted to what the hotel has to offer.
There is an excellent swimming pool and well equipped gym available free for residents and lots of quiet areas around the hotel where you can relax in comfy chairs, hammocks and bean bags.
The room we had was comfortable and contained everything we needed but the bathroom was a little dated and compact. The staff were helpful and efficient. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with transport who wishes to visit Keukenhof and the surrounding fields.

Great location but only during prime tulips blooming time

Shashi Kon 26/05/2017 07:03

I arrived when the blooming season had just finished. So missed the spectacular view. Very limited choice of restaurants and food. Most of the places were booked for conferences, so not very ideal for families.

Not good at all

Talita Pon 26/05/2017 00:34

The hotel is outdated and not what they show in the photos. They only show beautiful modern rooms but it was not the case at all.
The room had a very bad smell and the bathroom also doesn't smell clean. The water pressure was weak and the water temperature fluctuates between hot water and cold water while showering.
