because the hotel was changed from Noahs ark to Old EAst Hotel so everything was changed from managament to staff When you are riding the comments please look at the date dont mix our hotel with Noahs Ark

Good comfort for a reasonable price

This hotel, previously called Noah’s Ark, was recently refurbished. This is a small hotel with only 10 rooms. I spent 3 nights in a standard room with balcony located on the third floor.

Good points include:
- Excellent location within the old town, with many eating options nearby.
- Good comfort: very quiet, silent A/C, cable TV, good Wi-Fi, small fridge.
- Breakfast room located on the 4th floor with a nice view of the old town.
- Reasonable price per night (AZN 90) and reliable airport transfer (AZN 30).

Downsides:
- Tired bathroom: good shower and useful amenities but broken toilet seat and bad smell.
- Cleanliness: ok but could be improved, especially in the bathroom.
- Breakfast: ok but starting too late at 9am.

This is still a very good option for budget travelers.

P.S.: when in Baku, for very good Azerbaijani food, make sure to visit Firuze.

A terrible experience

I have booked one double room almost two moths in advance for me and my mother.
When I have arrived to Baku, my cousin (who lives there) called the hotel to check if I can check-in in the evening, since we were planing on having dinner before together. She was told that the room is reserved and there is no problem to check in at any time.
We have arrived after a l-o-n-g day to the hotel at 9PM. And then the same guy that made my reservation - Mr Elnur, has announced me that the room has unexpected issue and there is no room for me. He refused to show me the room (thus raising my suspicion that there was nothing wrong with it, and they just rented it to someone else) I was then sent by him, at almost 10 PM to search for another hotel, that he claimed to be beautiful and not too far. My cousin and I found ourselves in a motel-like place that looked like a Bourdelle. I agreed to stay for one night only because I was helpless in a foreign country, at night, and with luggage. The next day I found another hotel.
The disrespect of the Noah's ark hotel staff was a very unpleasant experience to start the visit in this beautiful city. Shame on them.

Perfect location, perfect staff, don't count on the rest

If you are visiting the city to walk around its old part, if you enjoy architecture and history - the location is great! Also the guys on reception are very clever and service-oriented. But don't wait too much from the hotel itself. It's not new at all, some things aren't working. The panorama breakfast has its panorama, however it's just value for money. I've been there twice, found nobody and helped myself. If you're taking the room with balcony, be careful to ask if there's no building works outside - I was 'lucky', and they started each day at 8am)
Cards are accepted, no additional fee applied, or at least I haven't discovered any...

just spent three days in baku at noahs ark. was furious at first because they have visa signs everywhere but would not take visa. said it was not working . later told me
by owner it was because of 2.7% visa surchargeand they would take visa if i paid surcharge. i explained that that attitude does not their motto. . . .3star hotel with 5 star service. could he imagine the marriot saying there woukd be a 2.7% visa surcharge for bill? hotel room carpet looked like it had been vomited on several times. BUT. i got sick and the concierge. got me soup deliverd, went out to pharmacy and brought back my requested antibiotics. immodium. and refused to take money for the drugs for the price good value and location is excellent in old baku
