Property is good, staff and service are great
JoannaFajon 18/08/2017 21:10I was travelling from Canada, and needed to check-in early (before the standard check-in hours). There was no issues. Francesco at reception made it happen in 15 minutes. I had called other hotels that wanted to charge me extra money, and Novotel did this free of charge. For this reason, I booked. It was very appreciated, and needed. Hotel is close to the airport, clean and nice.
High Quality - Convenient to Airport and Town
NJXJon 18/08/2017 19:14Just a short (10min) taxi ride from the airport terminal to the hotel (10-15 GBP). High quality accommodations, extremely friendly and efficient staff, good food in pub. Very convenient to train station and tram stop (about 100m walk). While maybe not the best location for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in Edinburgh center, the reasonable accommodation pricing and good transport connections makes this an excellent choice for a short stay in the area. Room was very well equipped and comfortable, although lack of formal air conditioning (admittedly a North American bias) prevents me from giving a 100% rating (95?).
An average nice hotel
Jensen3650on 18/08/2017 11:44An average nice hotel, starting to be a bit worn down. Very very friendly staff, though it looks like they are understaffed at breakfast time. I lived in room 323, which is an upgrade from a normal room. The window was sealed with a noted glued to the window saying "The window has been damaged by previous occupant and cannot be opened" So no fresh air in the room at all...
Edinburgh Festival
Scotswopon 17/08/2017 15:24Air conditioning/heating thermostat wasn't working. The staff gave us a fan to tide us over until the next day. We slept with the window open, but had to close it early, early, in the morning as the noise from the motorway traffic was too loud with the window open. Maintenance didn't show up the next day, so they gave us a second fan to help cool the room down. The room itself was comfortable, the beds were a good firmness, the bathroom was clean. The staff were friendly and the bar staff were really nice. The proximity to the tram line is good for getting into town and possibly getting to the airport. Other than the problem with the thermostat, the hotel is a nice place.
Great hotel close to the airport
kiradanaon 17/08/2017 10:07The hotel is located very near to Edinburgh airport and therefore perfect for travelers arriving late or leaving early from Edinburgh airport. The hotel looks modern and our rooms was very nice and big. The breakfast buffet in the morning was good, although we had to wait quite some time to get a table as it was really busy. Unfortunately we did not have time to use all the ammenities like the swimming pool, but it looked really nice.
