Bit disappointing
Tosh2on 06/06/2017 02:35This hotel caters largely to the conference trade. I'm sure that a lucrative venture, but it's not good for the individual guest. At the time of our visit, the hotel was almost completely filled with Rotary club members from far and wide. Now I've got no problems with Rotarians and I'm sure they do many good works. They were invariably polite and friendly, but too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing.
We didn't consider trying breakfast there since it couldn't have been anything less than a zoo, so cant comment on the food service.
There was a good deal of construction in progress, for the installation of a much-needed elevator I believe, and it made for some unavoidable mess inside and out.
The hotel did find us a room after several weeks on a wait list, so for that they get credit, but overall the place is a bit of a let down, in an area with very few others choices.
Loved this Inn!
Jean2017on 12/05/2017 01:16I was at this Inn for a conference. It's a gem of a place just minutes from the highway. Very easy to find and get to. Plenty of parking. It's got a nice cosy feel when you enter. Large dining room. Breakfast was great! Plenty on the plate. Fast service and reasonably priced.
Loved the room. Very comfortable and nice furniture.
I used the spa which has hair and nail services also. I had a massage which was great 👍
The conference facility was great also. There was another conference in the next room but we didn't hear a thing.
It's also close to wineries so is a great location to stay if you want to do wine tours which I'm planning in the near future.
I would definitely go back.
The old 'O' is a little old
drjasonclarkon 26/04/2017 23:56I really want to like this place. The staff we great, friendly and attentive. The hotel is the problem. There is no lift and I had several bags to carry - staff did offer to help with them and they are building a lift. The rooms are on really long corridors, make sure you get a room that is not a long long walk back and forward to the reception and restaurant. Everything is tired and dated. But as I said the staff were great, food excellent and the beds comfortable and clean. Not sure I'd stay if I had other choices. 5 start staff, with a 3 star average facility.
Rooms and Cozy Cabins as well!
rosewood1234on 25/04/2017 21:20The Old "O" as locals call it, not only has lovely hotel and spa rooms but it also has several private cabin/ cottages along a forested lane on the property which are self efficiencies and look lovely plus they sleep several people, and have full modern services. You can see the rates on the hotel website.
There must be something better somewhere nearby
montecatiniduckon 31/03/2017 17:43I've already stayed twice here now on my way to visit customers. They always suggested that this is the only place to stay in the area. Come on. Haven't they built anything new since the sixties/seventies? The rooms are clean and that is the most important thing to me, but the only modern thing in the room is a TV. The whole place urgently needs a refurbishment and the kitchen need a reality check. It wasn't that great, but acceptable the first time I stayed, but now they are just taking customers for a ride. Meal prices are more suited to a Metropolis. You cannot get away with prices likes these in a run down place like this one. Work will require that I visit this area again, but I really need to get my act together and find some other places to stay and to eat. The staff is not unfriendly, but I cannot say that they welcome you with an open arms either. It's more like, I'm paid to work here, so I have to stay here until my shift is over. That's it in a nutshell.
If you cannot find any place else, then this place is fine, but be prepared to pay a lot more than you would expect.
