Fabulous stay, yummy food
DaceFace88on 15/08/2017 09:37Stayed at the hotel on business.
Breakfast menu was amazing, so much choice and loved the veggie/vegan sausages!
Bedroom was clean, bed was comfy and felt at ease to come and go as I please. The additional small touches in the room really made a difference to my stay. Pukka Herbal tea, water and even an apple was ready and waiting.
Thank you Paskins and definitely see you again with some friends!
Charming and welcoming
Becky Don 13/08/2017 20:26Booked a deluxe double at Paskins for a 2 night stay. Room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated in the art deco style found throughout this hotel. Breakfast options fab - lots of choice particularly if you're veggie. Friendly welcome at reception who provided parking permits and explained the best places to park nearby - always a challenge in Brighton! Great location near to the lanes, the pier and kemptown. This would have been 5 stars but a couple of little things could do with sorting out: the room door was very stiff and had to be slammed to make sure it closed properly, not very restful for other guests, and the toilet did not always flush properly. Otherwise, a great little hotel which is clearly well run and looked after.
Lovely stay.
Petra Son 12/08/2017 18:35My teenage daughter had a single room next to us. The room was spotless and very comfortable.
The welcome was friendly.
The vegetarian breakfast was very tasty (a little spicy). The bread that was used for toast was delicious. The breakfast, in the basement, was a little squashed but the service was excellent.
Great hotel, excellent breakfast
Laura Fon 30/07/2017 17:24I really liked this hotel. Our room was on the top floor and small but I loved the art deco decor and we could see the sea from our window. It was a good location, being only a 10-15 minute walk to the pier. Breakfast was really delicious with lots of interesting choices, I wish we had been staying longer than one night so I could have tried them all! I would definitely stay here again.
Mutton dressed as lamb
musketeertoaston 01/07/2017 11:16This hotel has literally painted over the cracks to give you an appearance of something it isn't. Plaicng an old typewriter and hanging some badly painted picture frames up the stair well does not make up for some lazily hotel manangment.
There might be someone around to ask questions about the local area - if you're lucky. There is no-where to leave your key when you go out. The hotel stairway is dusty and dark - you have to fumble around for some light switches in a narrow staircase as you climb 3 flights to get to your room. The bathroom smelt of damp continually. The shower was very weak. You could not wash your face without bangin your head on the shelf. The toilet seat did not stay up. We had no hot water one evening. You can here every footstep from the room above (and the TV). It is impossible to sleep with the window open - sea gulls and cars speeding up the road will keep you awake - good luck in the summer. The bed was hard (personal preference i guess). The chair was brokken - almost fell through it when I sat down. The staff are pretenscious foreigners. When we left, we weren't even asked how thing were - clearly nto interested in improving the service. The breakfast was nothing special - though I only had the bagels which were really doughy. Some varied choice on the cooked menu. Not sure of the age of some of the fruit on the sideboard! The waitress was friendly. Location is ok, but we knew that before booking.
Generally, I would say that you'd have a better nights sleep, shower and a better breakfast at a Premier Inn.
