A very basic motel - needs work

This is an older property that has not been kept up to date. The unit was clean and the bedding and towels were fresh but that was about all. The bathroom fan was broken and there was no electrical outlet for a curling iron or blow dryer within reach of the only mirror.

The hotel has its own restaurant and dinner was great. The staff is nicer than most people ive encountered on my travels.The room is much bigger than expected.. there are generous coffee portions. Its quiet in the room.The host is very kind. I would recommend to stay here. Oh and all day breakfast!

Noisy location

I have no problem with the motel, clean and reasonable price but the noise all night long, either it's the train, mechanical room buzzing or engines revving. No sleep at all and the bed was comfy too.

Drive a little further and stay in Smithers

It was my first visit to Houston BC and I would never stay there again. The whole town is dying. There is only one old grocery store left operating and a couple of gas stations. At the time of this review they only had one doctor left there as well. Pleasant Valley Motel is a seedy motor inn style facility that has long since seen it's better days. I booked this Motel after reading the Trip Advisor reviews and I was a little disappointed. The gravel parking lot was in disrepair but frankly I really can't see the owner fixing the place as the town dies around it. So with that said here is the review:
The first thing you will think as you pull in is; Oh my God what have I down. The room had 2 queen size beds that were surprisingly clean and provided very good sleep quality. The bathroom had a tub / shower combo that had good water pressure and hot water was plentiful. This was the first shower in a long time that did not have the water saver insert in it so you get the full shower force. The room had a flat screen TV, small microwave, mini frig, and coffee pot. It also had a small air conditioner that did a great job keeping the room cool. Wi-Fi was also good. The room did not have a room safe, ironing board or iron. The place had great utility value and would be an excellent place to stay if you were broke down and couldn't get to Smithers. This is not a place that your wife is going to stay.

Cozy and very clean

My second time staying at the pleasant valley motel. I stayed in a room with a kitchenette which was clean and well maintained, it included a microwave, full size fridge (New and nice to have more room than a mini fridge), a stove/Oven (very clean), and a assortment of plates, pots, ... Also, very clean and probably one of the best bed, I've ever slept in! Good management, good service, good value and good day to day cleaning services! I will definetly return during my next passage in the region.
