Not a Great Experience
pennelion 05/05/2017 22:59Surprised to see all the other rave reviews here--we did not have the same experience. This pousada claims to have been renovated, but if so, a lot was overlooked. We had a spacious room with nice decoration, but the bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows were very old and soft. The bathroom was also old. The extremely small staff was nice but seemed tentative, not sure about what they were doing. It was disappointing to find out the pool was closed, even though the weather was warm enough to use it. We had dinner in the dining room and the food was just ok, as was breakfast. Not our best stay in Portugal.
Five Star Location for Conimbriga Ruins
Jerry Con 30/04/2017 16:36Best selection in Condeixa-a-Nova village. Super new, gorgeous gardens and pool seen from your balcony views. Free breakfast with great selections of local foods-hot and cold servings. Very high end dinner restaurant with terrific menu of regional items including duck, pork cheek speciality, and beef. Many Douro wines available but a bit more pricey due to the Pousada reputations. Super strong WiFi and lots of free parking in front of entrance makes for great traveling. You can walk to the old village if you need budget restaurant of fill in items to shop for. Fine, smiling service personnel.
Quaint, Friendly, and Perfect dinner view
R.L. Jon 13/04/2017 15:16Such an under rated pousada. This is our favorite pousada from our vacation with beautiful Vistas of the valley and proximity to the quaint town square. Our best non seafood meal so far. Recommend the duck. Enjoy.
Wonderful Service - Best Dining!
David Bon 12/04/2017 00:41A charming, comfortable and clean Pousada on the outskirts of Coimbra. It was seemingly a quiet time at the hotel with few guests ... nonetheless we received wonderful service from staff in an our overnight stay. Breakfast and dinner were exceptional in their beautiful dining room with attentive service provided. Octopus is a Portuguese specialty and when prepared properly, can be absolutely delicious ~ well, I had the very best grilled Polvo ever that was sensational. The salmon and shrimp served with black squid ink pasta was heavenly - perfectly cooked.
It was a chilly, wet March stay so the outdoor pool, though inviting, wasn't an option.
Posada in Coimbra
EMA595on 06/04/2017 17:11The posada and service were excellent. The weather left something to be desired, but that is not their fault. We enjoyed saying there. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The view of the lawn and pool were lovely.
