A special find just outside the downtown area
clark579on 08/08/2017 20:29A top-notch hotel that makes departing the grounds difficult, although Coimbra is very much a city worth visiting. Coimbra has a great market and garden, with an attractive central section full of good shops and restaurants. The hotel offers golf, swimming (inside and out), a small gym and wonderful grounds for walking. The food was amazing, including the afternoon drink/cocktail of the day. We had our best sangria ever at the hotel. The rooms are large and attractive and the service was exceptional.
Bamboo Garden Spa
Ed Bon 04/08/2017 16:15We stayed in Coimbra for two nights at the wrong hotel which was the Tivoli hotel which is just a tourist and business hotel. Fortunately we decided to check out the Quinta das Lagrimas for future reference and discovered the Bamboo Garden Spa while exploring the hotel. The staff at the spa was great, so much so that all four of us decided to get massages while there. The star of the spa is a young women named Suzette who not only does a superb job but after our treatments told us that she really loves her job and what she does. It is so refreshing to meet someone who really cares about what they do and let's it show in there work instead of just going thru the motions of their job. The hotel looks great although a bit of a hike into town but an easy taxi ride if needed. Next time we will stay at Quinta das Lagrimas and enjoy the grounds, pool, awesome bar and of course the Bamboo Garden Spa.
My Private Palace
howardw468on 03/08/2017 15:05We were King and Queen for a delightful night at Hotel Quinta das Lagrimas. The grounds were beautiful and provided for a delightful walk. The pool was very nice, as well. The dining room, however, was the highlight and a wonderful surprise. The food and presentation was exquisite!

Rachel Kon 28/07/2017 20:50Room was well cleaned, beds are comfortable. Pool is beautiful and clean with amazing beds to relax on. Breakfast is delicious with lots of healthy options, something I found hard to find in Europe. The staff were all very kind with the exception of the lady at the front desk. She is not very patient and she even rolled her eyes at us one time.
Other than that we had a great time.

Stefan_Minoiuon 27/07/2017 11:18you feel like you travel back in time and arrive to a old castle with beautiful gardens and in a magic silence. But nothing inside is outdated. Clean rooms with their own small garden terrace where you could drink your coffee in the morning or an afternoon tea after a long walk and visit to Coimbra University one of the oldest in Europe.
