What People are saying

In no way "luxurious"

If you ever intend to go there beware of house no. 2 at all costs!
Old, shabby, naked light bulbs, next to busy street and reception coming and going (no privacy whatsoever), no gate in the garden - we had to keep our dog on the lead all the time). Despite being advertised as 4 bedroom villa with 2 bathrooms + 2 shower rooms there were actually only 2 bathrooms and 1 shower room, closets also used as store room for boiler, ironing board and other houshold items, very, very unfriendly even hostile female person at reception (quote: "you don't get another house. That's it" unquote), no (promised) views being positioned on bottom of the hill....
I could go on for ever and ever. A terrible disappointment - to a very high price - that was our well deserved and long awaited holiday in a "luxurious" villa. :-(((((

Too little value for money!

In general our stay in this villa park resort was ok. Our villa itself was nice and could have provided room for up to 6 people (we were with two). Each villa has its own swimming pool and a very large, well equiped, kitchen. Since we stayed in October the price of the villa was much lower than during the summer period. Nevertheless, we still paid a premium price compared to alternative stays. You would expect to receive premium service in return.

However, the service provided was appalling. We were not welcomed at the reception (was closed), we had to find our appartment without any direction given and we did not get any information on the villa (i.e. how the swimming pool could be opened). Moreover, we did not receive new towels after one week (as stated in the booking). When we left, no one informed about our stay. In general the service was very low, especially compared to the premium price you pay. (However, take into account that the Cote d'Azur in general has premium prices.)

Luckily, Sainte-Maxime and the area are very nice. The weather was great during our whole 2.5 week stay (25C and sunny) and there are plenty of things to do.

Therefore, I would only recommend this villa park to people who travel during off-season periods (October - April). Prices during the summer are four times those during autumn / spring. We would recommend you to ask for a Villa in the lower section of the park (as we did), so that you are closer to the shops and beach. This will take you 15 minutes walking (the villas higher up, will take you >25 minutes). Just bear in mind that the service is less than what you would expect for such a resort / price.

Expensive and very bad service

Very first time we paid a premium price for a rental house in the Provence, so we were expected an even better quality then the previous years we rented private villas. Wrong thing to do...

At arrival we immediately noticed the beds were not made, and we lacked bathroom and kitchen towels. Since the reception is a 4km detour we tried to get hold of the cleaning people to fix that.
The villa inside was nice , modern and spacious, e.g. we had a nice tv but it was useless since we did not have an antenna, some other houses did have one. We mentioned this but was not fixed.

The garden looked very artificial with artificial grass which was not aligned properly and it drifted away from the borders after the first heavy rainstorm we had.

Swimming pool was average 8x4m with sound alarm. Unfortunately we did not have a manual for the alarm so it went of every time we got into the pool.
We also had electricity on the pool border which is very dangerous and made the children afraid. It took 4 days to have someone fix that.

There was no outside furniture in our house. After consulting the manager, he agreed to put our internal leather furniture ( table and chairs ) outside. We got cheap plastic long chairs a day later. We never got an sun umbrella which was too bad since after 4pm there was no shade on our terrace and we had to go inside to get out of the sun.

There was a lot of other smaller problems : toilet parts not fixed, no kitchen vent, ..

All this was very unexpected and unacceptable looking at the very high price we paid. Would never consider to rent from Maison de Biarritz any more. Private houses are much cheaper for the quality you get. At least that is our experience after 5 years of consecutive renting villas in Provence.
