Just a recommendation to increase the number of staffs to speed up the service. Don't forget to try the mutton curry .. awesome...
Superb property but cleanliness found wanting :(
Swapna Aon 25/07/2017 12:40Stayed here on the 22nd June, 2017. There were torrential rains, so we had to sit inside and go to the restaurants only to eat, but the property is so beautiful that one can just sit and idle away time in the lap of Mother Nature! The food too is very good, including their tea. And the puran poli (an Indian pancake kind of dessert) they had made was something to die for! The rooms are spacious. Having said that, like most Indian hotels/resorts, the place was unclean. As in, despite knowing that there were guests coming, the furniture was not cleaned. Every piece had a thick layer of dust on it. The wash basin and commode were not dirty but it definitely hadn't been cleaned for a long time. This is the least they could have done! I wonder if they even wash the blankets and bed-sheets every time! Why can't our lesser star Indian hotels practise a little hygiene? It will go a great way in getting them guests even from higher income groups! There was only 1 new soap kept, and 2 used ones! So I would repeat - A fantastic place but please maintain good hygiene, and you will be a sure winner! And yes, beware of the monkeys! :)

Hrishikesh Son 28/06/2017 14:56the most charming place in matheran. faaaaar from the madding crowd...delicious food, very clean rooms, amazing ambience, even the monkeys are fun... The only minus is the long walk from Daftari... but it is worth the 4 km trek.
