What People are saying

Decent lodging option in Kushinagar

Anuj Son 06/08/2017 02:17

State Govt run this place offers decent lodging option in Kushinagar. Not very costly, it does provide basic amenities in safe surroundings, close to main attractions of town. Like any other government run tourist lodges, it has ample space, big size rooms and restaurant at the site. Not bad for the price you pay.

Good Stay, Average Food, Great Service

If you're used to of stay in a state government run hotels, you would not complain. We stopped over for a night and since the rating here had set our expectations, it turned out to be quite a pleasant experience. We arrived at 10:20 pm by car after driving 900 kilometers from Delhi. The manager had informed that the restaurant closes at 10 pm, despite that they managed to get food for us. The food was basic home-like food. We were shown an AC room and decided to stick to it without checking the other options. The room was large with top quality mattress, bed linen and towels. AC was working perfectly and the washroom had functioning geyser, western toilet, and to our surprise toilet paper as well. We had dinner, a very good night sleep and warm morning shower. The staff were helpful and check in/out was smooth. The lawns are manicured and weather was awesome to we got some beautiful photos there.

It's a big hotel with over 100 rooms, so don't expect all the rooms to be of the same standard. Guess, we got one of the better ones. The similar room in other hotel costs more than double. If you book and AC room, expect better experience. Stick to basic food, if you wish to try something lavish look for other options or move to bigger cities.

Don't be surprised if a mouse is doing marathon in your room or you find a spider on the wall. If you report to them, the staff will drive them away.

Overall, a great value for money since you've limited stay option in Kushinagar. If you're an Indian, you're not likely to complain. But, if a mouse or a spider scares you to death, please book another hotel.

The staff were very courteous and respectful and they deserve a pat on the back. Though, you should not expect them to be artificially grinning at you like Hiltons and Marriotts.

Worst meal I had in India

Jimmy Kon 28/12/2015 12:27

Visited the hotel restaurant as I arrived late into kushinaagr and most of the other restaurants were shut - it was the worst meal I have ever had - The pilau rice was sloppy wet- the Dahl was very mediocre.

There were also mice running across the restaurant floors.

I was glad I didn't get food poisoned after that meal though.

Staff offered an indifferent service.

nice stay

I was really worried before booking a room in this hotel as most of the reviews in tripadvisor were adverse. But after checking in their AC hut it was a pleasant surprise to find everything in order.
Very big clean room with separate drawing and store room. Clean linen and towels. Noise free split Hitachi AC, very silent sleep quality, 24 hr. running hot water, polite and eager to serve staff, smooth check in and out, good Tv with Tata sky connection. Bath tub in the bathroom though the fittings were not working smoothly. Very good location.Room service is a problem, you have to go to the restaurant for your morning cup of tea and breakfast.Condition in the restaurant is not very clean but in a very small town like Kushinagar in my opinion this hotel is real value for money. Will stay here for sure during my future visits to Kushinagar and recommend to friends. Overall a 8/10

simple and working

I booked the room online via UP tourism website and check in was very smooth. The manager was kind enough in guiding us to find the way to the hotel. We took two double rooms for family and both were clean and quite spacious, something which goes with almost all govt run hotels. The location provides easy access to the kushinagar site and it is quite relaxing. The restaurant is not top notch but serves food at normal prices. Since, there is not much to see in Kushinagar, this place is quite good for a stay for one or two days (we stayed for 1 night). Considering the rates (800-1600 INR), this is quite close to the best budget place in kushinagar.
