Okay, but you don't get what you pay for

The breakfast was rather limited and did not meet the standard one expects for this price, while the rooms smelled of old tobacco smoke, as did the hallways. Most of the staff were friendly, at least those working the daytime shift. All in all not worth the money.

Stayed for a couple of nights at this hotel when I was in Bochum.
The staff were very friendly and had a good understanding of English, which is always a plus point given my pigeon German.
The lobby and bar area are modern and clean and the bar serves a good selection of cocktails, wine and beer. I can confirm the Banana Beer is quite fabulous!
There is only one lift in the building and it tends to be very small, so those travelling with suitcases and a family may have to make 2 trips.
The bedrooms, whilst clean, were quite basic, no coffee making facilities and the air conditioning didn't work, thankfully the windows opened because it was quite warm the days we were there, the beds were comfy and clean, unfortunately I had a room that overlooked the entrance of the building and was quite noisy at night with people coming and going. Also the hotel had recently changed its brand from Ramada (which it was when I booked) to H+ and as such some hotel refurb looked like it was still on going, for instance, the old Ramada sign looked as though it had fallen from the roof and landed on the foyer roof, which is where it remained for the duration of the trip.
All in all, it's a good budget hotel, very close to Starlight Express with a nice menu, a good breakfast buffet and bar, the bottled water is horrifically expensive so try and buy before you get there in another shop. That said, there were 2 free bottles of small fizzy water in the room, but with no ice in sight, they were warm.

Efficient and clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is ok, only cleaning the tables in between guests could be considered. Room 113 is close to the reception and is therefore a little noisy. Good price quality balance.

If you only want a roof over your head with the option for a good meal and drink you couldn't go wrong here. The rooms are a little tired and dated although very clean and have the basics you would expect. The restaurant is pleasant again the decor won't win any awards but doubt they are going for that. The food is good and the bar is fully stocked so you won't go wanting. If you are going to starlight this is perfect right next door and it is easily accessed by major roads. Staff are friendly so no complaints there either.

We have stayed at this hotel 6 times in total.
It is right next door to the absolutley brilliant Starlight Express musical ( you have never seen Starlight Express unless you have seen it in Bochum ! ) very clean hotel with freindly English speaking staff. The breakfast is excellent as is the restuarant in the evening. My only critism is as with most German hotels there are no tea and coffee making facilties in the room but we always take this with us and a travel kettle.
