Pit Stop In Brixen

Nice little hotel on the main road through Brixen. We were just trawling round the Hohe Salve looking for a hotel with some Wellness added and this was the first one to give us a double room.
It was clean, tidy and in very good condition. The room was out back, so nice and quiet off the main road. The hotel is set well back from the road anyway. We had a great sleep.
The food was delicious, especially eating al a carte. There is a fixed menu for groups etc. Breakfast was included and it was your regular buffet style. Full of goodies.
In the cellar was a wellness area. Well keep, Greek design with 2 saunas, a dry and wet.
I thought the price was a little over. But for one night, we didn't mind.
We enjoyed our night at Hubertus.

Very bad experience

First, to say that this is not a 4 star hotel. Don't rely on the website pictures. If you book a family room make sure that it is not on the ground floor (most family rooms are there) because you would find a noisy room with views to the parking and extremely warm in summer since Windows cannot be opened when you are out of the room (it is not a real window but a door; if you open it everybody sees you from outside). Note that we booked our room 6 months in advance (we requested for a quiet and bright room with views to the mountains) and the room that we had was exactly the oposite. The owners of the hotel were very unpleasant. To point out that in front of the hotel there is a road and a railway track (the hotel is NOT in the middle of the mountains).

Lovely place to ski!

Did I stay in the same hotel as the previous reviewer? We thought this hotel was great! The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and always greeted us and asked about our day. We speak a little German but their English was so good we usually communicated in that. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable and warm. The breakfast was a good buffet and the morning waitress was very helpful. In the evening the meals were superb - innovative cooking and a delight to eat. We especially appreciated the cheese buffet. The staff were excellent, not rushing our meal nor making us wait, always on hand if needed but not intrusive. We enjoyed talking to the superb restaurant manager and to the guy from Argentina. Thank you to reception for knowing it was my husband's birthday and providing a candle and fizz for breakfast. Improvements? I'd have liked a jacuzzi as well as the sauna/steam rooms. The hotel is conveniently situated just a very short walk from the gondolas to Hochbrixen and Westendorf. Access to Kitzbuhel is easy on skis or by bus or train.

Poor food and low service level

I booked a so called "deluxe double room" was quite expensive compared to comparable hotels. The room we got was small and did not even have sauna towels or any further
ammendities. The room was clean and reasonable comfortable, but the price is very high.

For us (2 adults and 1 child) the absolute worst was the dinner on a Saturday (Gala dinner) part of the half board package. My family is sadly lactose intolerant and reported the same to the hotel at check-in, but never the less we did not get any alternative without lactose. This meant that we had to skip 2/3 of the actual dinner (two starters and dessert). When at the dinner we were informed
that the dessert was with pasteurized milk, and did we want to skip it or not, so as lactose intolerant we just had to skip it and no alternatives were offered in its place.
The main course was so small and with so low quality that we could not eat it, with it was a small smear of sweet potato and a few very small vegetables. So after the so called dinner we were still hungry and had to instead visit a near by Pizzeria. The dinner cost 42€/person as standard price when it is not part of the half board (as then the price is lower). Instead we ended up paying ~30€ at a local pizza.

I would not recommend this hotel and looking at the 9.2 score on booking i am afraid that i am not sure how this was achieved with this quality (hotel, service, food).
Having lived in a high number of hotels in the world (and also quite a few in tirol) this is possibly a 6-7 and 3* hotel.
