View and breakfast makes it worth it
otsengon 10/08/2015 04:42Think of this place as a dorm with a fantastic view and a good free breakfast.
Our family stayed in the 5 bed room which fit 2 adults, 3 kids, and a baby. Rest room is dorm style. On one wing is the women's, on the other is the men's.
Check-in and check-out is in the restaurant, which took me a little bit to figure out since there's no reception area.
The hotel seems to cater to families and groups. Not many singles there while we were there.
There is a shared balcony outside the rooms. So, if you leave your balcony door open, anybody on the same floor can come inside your room.
The view from the balcony is one of the best I've ever seen in a hotel.
There is no A/C or fans in the rooms. But, it was not too much of a problem for us, even in August.
The breakfast is free and it was actually pretty good. The butter tasted better than any I've ever had.
The decor around the hotel is a bit eccentric, but makes the hotel have it's own charm.
If you're looking for a cheap hotel for lots of people and want a great view and a good breakfast, this is it.
Excellent place very peaceful
faislondonon 18/05/2015 09:46I have stayed at this place in May 2915. Very peaceful place & close to the bus stop from the Hotel. Also ski lift in 5 min walking distance if you are on ski trip thisi would be ideal place to be in.
Weird place, but cheap with a nice view
J_C59889on 20/02/2015 21:24Our family of four stayed here last summer. It was almost empty and there's gnome "art" everywhere, so that gave it a weird vibe. Shared bath and showers. We really enjoyed hiking around the countryside -- great place if you need a cheap place to crash.
Clean, simple and inexpensive family accommodation
AthanasAon 22/09/2014 08:14We stayed in Ferienhous Wasserwendi after a day out in Ballenberg (which we highly recommend as a day out with kids). The accommodation is simple - we had a 5 bed room with toilets and showers in the hall. All very clean and proper, with great views over lake Brienz and delicious food in the spacious dining room (with toys for the kids to play with). We were 2 families, and managed to get rooms on-the-spot for the night for a very reasonable price.
Spectacular view inside a hoStel
Travel Lon 26/08/2014 13:27Before every booking I read reviews so I knew this hotel looks like a hoStel on top of a mountain. The room was very clean and the single beds were comfortable. Very thin walls. Sharing bathrooms and showers. Spectacular view. Check-in and Check-out inside the restaurant. The "make yourself" pizza was really tasty. We stayed just one night to visit the Aare Gorge and hike to the Trift Bridge. For this purpose it was ok. I wouldn't stay longer.
