I know this review is long winded but you really should read all of it.

No disrespect to the hotel in Postojna, Slovenia that until this stay held the title "best of the trip so far" but this place was awesome! I ate both evening meals here as well as using their breakfast buffet both mornings and the service and food was flawless every time. I'd go with the Chicken Schnitzel in Tomato Sauce with a side of Rexton Potatoes but that's just me, I'll bet everything on that menu is great.

The room was very nice with comfortable furniture and the bed, the main reason we pick a hotel, was quite comfortable. There are no dead spots for wifi here, they have routers on every floor I believe, and extenders on those routers. I know this is true for the second floor at least. I had a corner room facing the intersection this property is located on so you might think traffic noise would be a problem but the city of Craiova quiets down early so it didn't present an issue for me. Laundry rates are reasonable.

But that's just the beginning; it's the people here, all of them, that makes this place not just the best of the trip but the best in recent memory, (I'm 61 so there are some years that don't count anymore). On my first day there I met 3 people; Claudia, the owner/manager; Andreea, the restaurant/bar server that evening; and Lucia, the receptionist. I had extended conversations with all of them. For example; Claudia, in spite of the responsibilities she must have had that evening spent over 30 minutes chatting with me about things that interested me. Where she was during the '89 revolution, what life was like before the revolution and things like that.

The next day I met 2 of the nicest housekeeping staff I've seen. They were fixing a lighting problem in my room that I tried to tell them was of no concern to me but they wouldn't quit until they had it corrected. Every person I met here was smiling, they enjoy working here. My biggest regret; I got absent-minded the morning I left and totally forgot to leave a tip in the room for that great housekeeping staff. I enjoyed this hotel and Craiova so much I intend to come back in the offseason and I'll make it up to them then.

An excellent choise

Everything was excellent ! The hotel is modern. The breakfast is various. Great selection of drinks in the bar .The rooms are excellent and clean.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel location was minutes to centrer of Craiova. A verry nice terase.
Would highly recommend for business trip.

A successful trip

I stayed at Hotel Rexton for a few days and felt great. The room was very large with light nature and very clean. Rooms have internet at a good rate. I visited some places I was impressed with. The hotel is located less than 5 minutes' walk from the old center where there are countless terraces and restaurants. The hotel staff is very kind and the breakfast was very diversified and rich (thanks to the dinner chef that he offered us ).
Everything was superlative, we will definitely return to this location.

Unlucky experience

When reading the reviews I have decided to choose this hotel for my stay at the beginning of May 2017! Maybe it was a bad day for me or maybe others were lucky! I have received a room on the first floor. I shall start with the good things about this stay. The room was quite big with nice natural light and it had a big desk, very useful to me! The bed, even if it didn’t look very promising, it offered a good quality sleep! WI-FI of a very good quality is offered. The staff at the restaurant was nice. However, the staff at the reception when checking in was not very interested on my person, but talking to each other. When in the room, I wanted to make a cup of tea, but I had quit the idea, as the cups were stacked to the plates which also had remaining of instant coffee. The fridge needed some cleaning also, as there was a layer of ice. In the bathroom, the water was leaking from the toilet seat on the floor. They knew about it, but had no plumber available. I have asked for another room, but they said no availability. The shower floor was covered in a wood frame, which was a bit sticky. Shall I mention that the bedside tables were full of dust, as well as the bed frame? I strongly believe that they are either short of staff, cleaning staff is not trained or maybe I was given a back-up room. Concerning the restaurant, I have mixed feelings: the staff was really nice, the food not bod, breakfast quite limited and a dingy look. As a bonus, somebody from the hotel entered my room, about two hours after check-in, while I was in the room, because the person was not told the room was offered to a guest. Definitely won’t go back again!

Very dull hotel

I really did not have a great time at this hotel. Room was very very basic and air con did not work. I was kept up most of the night with dogs barking and cockerel in someones garden making so much noise. Restaurant was poor and staff not very friendly. I would not go back again
