OK - but wouldn't stay again
starlinggirlon 13/08/2017 04:00The first room we were assigned smelled of smoke, so we asked for a new room. The front desk promptly found us a new room. Unfortunately, this room wasn't very clean either, but we were too tired to ask for yet another room. We had never stayed at a Rodeway before, but first impressions are important, and I wouldn't choose Rodeway again unless I had no choice.
Pleasant Surprise
Jeff Con 08/08/2017 21:01We stayed here one night July 26, 2017. This Roadway Inn was actually quite a surprise! Check-in was fast, and the family that runs the place were very nice!
Got into the room – and it was much more comfortable that I expect from Roadway Inns.
Very clean, comfortable bed, and not “stick furniture” like you’d normally find in a Roadway Inn or a Motel 6 – they were actual upholstered easy chairs.
Great shower, water stayed hot the entire time. Decent pressure.
The hotel was pretty full, but I couldn’t hear the people in adjoining rooms.
The free breakfast is your standard Choice Hotels fare – but it wasn’t overcooked or overheated. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and the country gravy for the biscuits-and-gravy wasn’t a thick mess.
Pretty good!
Normally I’d give a Roadway Inn 3 stars; but I’m going with 4 on this one.
There was just something “nice” about the place that was very unexpected.
Especially at the low price they charge (with tax, $68).
I would definitely stay here again!
OK FOR THE PRICE
TravelNowSwUsaon 04/08/2017 02:54This was just a stop on a long road trip. it was inexpensive (67.00). The room was in the process of being renovated in that it had granite in the bathroom sink and tub.Only 3 hangers in the closet. Quiet room. Water pressure was great. The furniture was OK as the bed was comfy. However, the armchair footstool was stained and the blankets
was really torn which was surprising. Breakfast not great, had cereal which was fine and the coffee was very, very weak. No hot water for tea. The eggs came from a bag that was nuked and then water rained from the bag before it was put in the serving dish. The woman setting it all up seemed really tired so I didn't ask for anything.
Friendly, but understaffed and a bit noisy
hortaeggon 01/08/2017 01:47Had a bit of a mix-up checking in. Our room was not what we reserve. We were told that we would have to take a second floor room if we had to have the configuration we wished. With no elevator and my knees not what they used to be, we took what they had on the ground level. This place is quite dated but everything worked in the room. The breakfast was okay with a sort of scrambled (in a bag and nuked) egg, sausages, assorted baked goods, and a waffle maker. Check out took 30 minutes because the clerk was doubling as a maid that day and someone had to go find her. The upside is I met some nice people who were also waiting to check out.
Clean, organized and friendly
Crash2100on 30/07/2017 22:07Clean, organized and friendly. The location is very convenient off the freeway but not close enough to hear any freeway noise. The rooms are clean, well appointed and the prices are very reasonable. The beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast is extremely good and the staff are very friendly and very responsive. They also seem to genuinely enjoy their work. Overall, a very good choice for lodging in Baker City.
