Middle of nowhere
Nicole Con 26/05/2017 14:12This hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere, however it is exactly what we needed. Rooms were clean, view from the room was great, and the breakfast spread was fine. There is nothing close to the restaurant so make sure you eat before heading there for the night or you will be hungry!
Nicer than expected!
JARPHXon 24/05/2017 23:40The hotel is the only business along the road between Hanksville and Capitol Reef. I asked the manager where Caineville was, and she pointed to a road across the street and said that there were a couple of buildings down the road that constituted the town.
Thus the hotel is really nicer than expected and probably nicer than it had to be. The room was clean, large and comfortable. It had recently been refurbished, and it showed.
Breakfast was quite basic, but fine.
The hotel covers the basics, is clean, and served our needs.
However, there are NO dining options nearby. Hanksville is almost 20 miles away in one direction, and Torrey is west of Capitol Reef.
If you want a hotel room and nearby dining options, the Rodeway Inn would it be a good choice. Stay in Torrey.
When in Caineville
eltexanoon 22/05/2017 19:19The Rodeway Inn Capitol Reef is really all that there is of Caineville, Utah. Having said that, it was a nicer stay than I anticipated on first sight. The room was clean and it was quiet despite the fact that the motel seemed full the evening I was there.
Don't expect to find anything in town to eat. The nearest restaurant is about 20 miles away in Hanksville.
very good location for visiting Cathedral Valley
427BeatleBobon 11/05/2017 05:05on my last trip to Capital Reef, I noticed this motel in the "middle of nowhere." I said to myself, " this will serve as an excellent launching point for driving to Cathedral Valley from the east side. The disadvantage is the lack of restaurants. There is one very close but it was closed due to "too much mud." You have to drive 15 miles to Hanksville for food.
My room has a dresser, TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. This is a two story motel with only outdoor stairs. The room is very clean and modern. If I have to return to Cathedral Valley, I will definitely come back here because of the location.
Decent hotel
Pat076on 03/05/2017 21:40The hotel is off the road but the room was clean. Toiletries provided along with a refrigerator. TV reception is through direct TV but phone reception was nil,even from room to room. There were several big dogs associated with the hotel owner, they seemed happy enough but for those who do not care for pets, this could be an issue.
Breakfast in the morning was pretty good, waffle maker, yogurt, toast, etc...the basics. We had a late meal so we did not stop for dinner but I heard at Capitol Reef Visitor Center that the Stan's burger shack in Hanksville (18 miles away) was really good. The hotel owner was very nice and personable.
