CROOKS! LIARS! BEWARE! STAY AWAY!!
JL00012000on 08/05/2017 09:19First the front desk staff is clearly unfriendly. But the manager over there is a liar and a crook. She charged us $55 for "cleaning" but refuses to show evidence of this. First she claimed they had to replace the mattress, but then she changed her story. Guess what a mattress doesn't cost $55! It's a lot more than that for sure. And if she truly had to hire people to clean the mattress then where are the receipts? First it was only me and a 4 yr old staying in the room and we were both violently sick with stomach flu so we stayed in bed and the only reason we stayed an extra day was because neither of us could get out of bed. So, yes, they have to wash the sheets but that's no more than the usual cleaning you expect at any hotel. We've stayed in many hotels.. easy to prove.. and NEVER has any of them ever charged us any cleaning fees nor for that matter any charges for damages. We are of course opening up an investigation with my bank, and if necessary will take them to small claims court. They will not get away with this so easily. My advice to anyone, do NOT stay there and if same happens to you, then take them to court.
Night Shift is great!
TravelXeron 19/04/2017 01:56Ok place budget hotel most of the time with out any breakfast offering other than coffee... prices fluctuate due to the location but not for the accommodation. Morning staff less desirable! The parking lot is very tight ...
Amazing for the price
nerualon 18/04/2017 19:57I stand by my review of Rodeway Inns. I stayed at the one in Carlsbad in 2012 and was pleasantly surprised. I've read some reviews of this place and I believe the rating should be higher.
1st this is a basic hotel/motel but it doesn't try to say it is anything else. If you're looking for something inexpensive and don't need frills this place is it.

Peter Hon 17/04/2017 19:44The young lady in the evening when we checked in was very nice and went out of her way to be helpful. Unfortunately, I don't recall her name.
Everything in the room looked relatively new. Large flat-screen TV with cable channels, I hate dark, dingy, depressing hotels with lights that appear to be 3-watt bulbs. This hotel was a nice change. It had lots of good lighting throughout the room, which I loved.
Things it does not have:
No pool or Jacuzzi
No gym/exercise room
No breakfast, continental or otherwise (but has coffee and juice in the mornings)
NEVER AGAIN
Vikki Von 14/04/2017 18:26Reserved a ground floor room because of limited mobility from MS and replacement knees. MS makes me sensitive to heat, which drains energy and exacerbates symptoms.
We checked in at around 6 pm and found the only apparent staff member rude, surly and argumentative from the moment we arrived. Paid for the room online but the clerk insisted on running my card a second time and charging a 50 dollar "key deposit.
Our room was unbearably hot and the air conditioner was malfunctioning.
A trip back to the office resulted in curt responses to come "fix it" implying we were merely too stupid to work the appliance. We waited and finally moved our things back to the car as the air conditioner was clealy not functioning.
A second trip to the office finally convinced this rude man to come to the room, where upon he chastised us for sitting on the beds and putting trash in the cans if we wanted a new room.
The only room he would offer us was upstairs and there was no elevator nor did offer to help us move our luggage to the new room. The stairs were filthy and marred with what looked to be blood stains!!
At that point, I had no energy left to locate a new hotel, and with my daughters help we got to the 2ond floor room with a working air conditioner. Next morning, I checked my bank account and I had been charged twice for the room.
The morning clerk not only refused to adjust our rate for the inconvenience. she refused to credit me for the double charges, despite my ability to show her room charges had been deducted twice. She demended I provide a statement page on bank letterhead and gave me a fax number. This is now part of my vacation. At no time did she ask for my card to refund the "key deposit" of $50, despite my handing her the keys. I had to insist she do so.
If you value fair dealings, comfort and no hassle vacations, avoid this facility at all costs. Eventually, the second charge dropped off my account, but tied up funds until it did so. Or my rewiew would have been worse.
