DO NOT STAY HERE
Traveling_Mackson 16/08/2017 05:12Made a rookie mistake and booked a room here without a deep search of Trip Advisor reviews. The location has changed names to the Studio 6 Red Hills. I will not get into interactions with the staff as I have no evidence other than my complaint lodged with their corporate office. As for the facilities, they are still in the midst of "renovating" the property. The office is a disaster, the property grounds look cleaned up after being abandoned, and the room we almost stayed in looked like a really nice place for doing something illicit. Long-term residents hang out in the parking lot area. The staff are not professional when confronted with issues.
Please, even if there is no where else to stay, do not stay here. We drove home 3 hours away rather than roll the dice on this place. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Avoid at all costs
Kevin Oon 23/05/2017 01:13Absolutely disgusting property, now masquerading as a Studio 6 Motel. Filthy beyond belief. Trash piled up in corridor, no toilet paper or soap in room, all furniture stained and soiled, pool filled with debris, transients loitering on property. The list goes on & on. The health department needs to stop by this place along with parole & probation departments.
Abysmal does not come close
Bruce Pon 23/05/2017 00:32I think that Rodeway sold this dog to Motel 6 in order to avoid condemnation.
From the Studio 6 website we found this "new" motel in St. George. We wanted to try out the brand so we booked at a higher price then the venerable Motel 6 across the street. What a mistake.
The first clue should've been, when we were standing in the lobby more suitable to a Tijuana by-the-hour motel, and the manager wouldn't let us into a room to use the restroom until after we paid.
Filthy doesn't come close to describing it. Overflowing trash bins. Cigarette butts all over the grounds. Garbage everywhere. A bathtub reminiscent of a fraternity house. Peeling and chipped paint everywhere. And we had one of the "renovated" rooms.
And then there were the amenities: No lightbulbs - the manager blamed the last guest for swiping them which begs the question of how they serviced the room in between; or did they? After I got replacement lightbulbs from the manager, they were easy to install because there was no diffuser on the fixture. No water glasses. No ice bucket. No coffee for the filthy coffee maker that was provided.
Renovations? Let's see, they must've painted the ceiling because the smoke detector was still masked off making it nonfunctional. There was a new fridge complete with packing material all over it. There was a new basin but the faucet was so poorly aligned that the only way you can get the water in the basin with turn it on full blast. Less than full, it dribbles over the side of the basin.
It was difficult to close the door to the toilet and tub because it hit the toilet halfway closed.
The pool is marked "closed for the season" but it is so filthy I can't imagine how they can ever open it. The lawn is a mixture of weeds and dog poop and trash. See my photo.
Studio 6 is supposed to be the extended stay version. There was not room enough in this accommodation to change your mind.
We wish we had changed our mind and demanded a refund to our credit card and found other accommodations. Instead we slept a few hours, packed up without taking a shower and hit the road in the morning.
About 30 miles south, in Mesquite Nevada, there is the Virgin River Casino with rooms starting at $27 that I hear is really clean. The management is rumored to be friendly, too. And it is pet friendly. That's where we will be next time.
Nastiest hotel in Saint George
phlcmon 20/03/2017 20:15FILTHY rooms, Shower didn't work, TV broken- had to sleep in clothes and keep shoes on in room. Room smelled of stale smoke (was supposed to be smoke free) Staff solution to fix was to spray febreeze into corners of all room to the point of dripping then used some type of oil and smeared it all over the air conditioning vent (you just cant make this up) Plan on reporting to Health Department. GROSS
DO NOT STAY HERE
wegetaround_42on 08/01/2017 06:12We picked this place as it had good reviews and was "new" and takes pets. It is, in fact, an old Rodeway Inn and is under renovation. The first room we were shown was filthy, and old. After we went to the desk we were shown to a room that seemed to be in the process of being renovated. Because they take pets, it was late, and we were not interested in looking for another place, we took the room. My first task was to find a broom and sweep the floor, since there was construction dust everywhere. The sink in the room was so high it was nearly impossible to reach it. The cabinets are partially completed, and in general, the place is half-done.
