What People are saying

Excellent Value for money

on 08/08/2017 22:35

And a nice location too !
We booked direct with hotel and also pre booked breakfast .
The room was small but as they say perfectly form . Nice touches are fresh fruit and fresh coffee in room .
Breakfast was very good .
Yes there are stairs and I suppose this could be a problem if you find stairs hard . They do have rooms on the ground floor.
Our room was at the front and I guess it could be noisy if people were shouting walking along . I pleased to say we had a great night sleep . We didn't but I was told you could a number 8 bus from Bristol Temple Mead . Parking I think is on first come first serve bases but check with their website.

Well Located - Underwhelming Experience

We booked into the Rodney after a return travel journey from Wales and Ludlow.

The reception staff were efficient and very friendly.

We took our rental car back and just as well as there is virtually no parking available in all of Bristol especially in the Clifton area.

The location is great near all the bustling restaurants and pubs of Clifton.

We had a room on the second floor which was small " Poky " by Australian standards and the double bed seemed to be smaller than usual in English Hotels !

The bathroom was adequate albeit very tiny. The only way of cooling the room in the summer Bristol heat was to open the window fractionally and as a consequence it was disrupted sleep in a stuffy airless room.

The reception staff kindly stored our bags while we went for breakfast and waited for our trip back to London.

We booked during Graduation week in Bristol and as a result prices were fairly steep for the accommodation on offer.

Would we stay here again ? probably not mainly because of the stairs which are a killer to drag suitcases up and down and the price definitely is too much compared to many other hotels we have stayed at. That said Bristol is a wonderful eclectic city and one we really enjoyed !

GOOD LOCATION

I am disabled and lack mobility. Was told I could have ground floor room but none was available on my arrival. Was told I could have reserved parking but could not fit in space on first day and none was available thereafter. There is a taxi rank directly across the road and a bus stop outside front door so I used taxis. Parking is a serious problem at this hotel! Our room was at the front on the first floor. It was relatively small which caused me difficulty with.my lack of mobility. Being at the front it was fairly noisy and wardrobe space was meagre to say the least. The bathroom was good with a bath and an excellent shower. It was clean and towels were plentiful and fluffy.
Breakfast consisted of an excellent hot food menu with a good variety, well cooked. However there was a lack of cold food, ham and cheese etc. I like a banana on my cereal but there were none and no stewed fruit to substitute.
The two best attributes of this hotel are (a) the location in Clifton Village, close to many good bars and restaurants and (b) the staff who are, without exception, polite, friendly and efficient. They are a credit to the establishment.

Very small room, no parking

Had a small single room (22) on the second floor overlooking a busy road, weather hot so had to have the window open and it was noisy until the early hours and again early morning. There is only metered parking locally, max 3 hour, until 21:00, they recomend a carpark 10 minutes walk away. Overall not the best experience

Best breakfast in bristol

Sheena in the kitchen is some sort of magician without question the best breakfast in Bristol. Was checked in by Harriet and very well looked after by Phil who were always welcome and very helpful. Can't recommend these guys highly enough!!!
