Luxury comforts and serene nature at its best!
Melissa242on 03/04/2017 19:39Its a beautiful place with lovely, massively spacious rooms which are very clean, cozy and comfortable. Its a small boutique hotel which offer all the luxurious amenities in a homely cozy setting. The garden and surroundings are totally oriented with nature and some wildlife. The place opens its lobby to a beautiful pool and parades into the Maadhu rivers splendours. A place of peace and tranquility!

Great Hotel, BAD SERVICE !!!
Vonet Con 01/03/2017 09:26o, I booked this hotel in advance as I've seen they have a lake and you can organize romantic dinner over there and I booked it especially for this one as I wanted to propose my girlfriend. We spoke in advance regarding this they confirm to me that for an extra charge of 100$ they can prepare the romantic dinner with candles plus a boat ride..Only thing that it didn't happen as when I asked one rude guy there if everything is ready for my surprise he said NO NO NO! Staff is a joke, they are rude, not willing to help, they push us to buy beers as someone can go and buy for us and they came back with 20 hot beers and they ask for more money to go and change them!Food was bad and my burger was not cooked! When I said to the guy that I cannot eat sth like this instead of preparing a new one he gave me ice cream! After 4 hours to reach the hotel at the end I had ice cream! You cannot e joy the pool as they all starring at you like you are a criminal, and everything you are asking they wanna see money first!Don't get me wrong place is amazing but all the staff should be fired!By the way my bath didnt work so we could'n enjoy! The only nice person was the guy from the pool he deserve all my respect!Thank you for ruining my surprise for my girlfriend.Hope the person in charge of this place will give a proper training to this rude people. Not even able to book a taxi we had to argue and wait a long time!Don't trust the pictures as they will say the same to you!The dinner over the lake was just for New Year Party!Shame that i didn't get the names.
The concept of this hotel is really cool, rooms are great, and pool is nice as well.
Amazing Honeymoon Experience
Sam Bon 26/02/2017 10:14My wife and I stayed at Roman Lake for the first eight nights of our honeymoon and had an incredible time. The property lies on the bank of a vast lake (they call it a river) with countless islands. The beach (Balapitiya) is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute tuktuk away. From here you are well situated for day-trips to Hikkaduwa, Bentota, Galle, Mirissa and other places of interest. Taxi expenses can build up fast though. The staff are friendly and helpful. The chef cooked one of the best curry spreads we've ever had. The room we stayed in overlooked the pool and lake and had a well-maintained jacuzzi-bath on the balcony. Frequently saw monkeys in the trees around us and the occasional large lizard (not crocs!) rambled across the garden. The nearby Buddhist temple frequently projected their mantra chanting across the local area. They have a lovely spa building with various treatments next door. Boat trip round the lake available from the pier in the garden. This resort has a small number of rooms so service is personal and we got to know all the staff well. We were sad to leave and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet peaceful break with access to beautiful beaches and the attractions of south-west Sri Lanka. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so special!
Ayurveda heaven, a place to remember
PerMortenOsloon 19/02/2017 18:14Being a Scandinavian owner of a travel agency, means that we are experienced travelers.
Traveling for the first time to Sri Lanka with my wife and our three year old son we had three days at The Roman Lake.
The hotel with only eight rooms offer a privacy and hospital atmosphere that are special. The resort are hidden away and are very quiet and tranquil. The hotel is situated by a lake sourrounded by rain forrest , with monkeys and a beautiful lake. You should go for the full Ayurveda experience when you stay here, which means that the entire stay will be ayuruvedic. The first day you will meet up with the lovely hotel doctor who will decide which treatments, meals and medicine you shall have according your Ayurvedic diagnosing. Then you will receive a program with numerous treatments and meals. The treatments are all highly professional and of high standard. So are the meals. The staff at the hotel are extremely hospital and friendly. They immediately make you feel at home and relaxed. They will do anything to meet your requests and requirements. Although this is not a typical hotel for children they did everything for our little boy. The hotel is yet undiscovered by most travel agents but that won't be for long. This hotel is a hidden gem!
