Great location and nice place
Carl Pon 27/06/2017 14:59Nice room, beautiful Victorian style home and very nice breakfast.
I would give this place 5 stars but when we arrived there was no record of our reservation upon arrival.
If there weren't a room available there (there was only one left) we would have been out of luck. I am not completely sure, but at least somewhat sure that this may have been Expedia's fault and not Rookwood's.
Expedia (which I am currently researching how I may review them on here but since they're now merged with Tripadvisor, I wouldn't be surprised if they made that tough to do if not impossible) told us we needed to do nothing regarding contacting the Rookwood Inn after our reservation but prior to our arrival.
They were very wrong.
The Heart of Lenox
Maxebirdon 10/05/2017 01:16Second time was the charm. Just got back from a weekend at The Rookwood Inn. Loved it.
The location is great, a short walk to the shops and restaurants in town. The place is beautiful and extremely comfortable.
Add in a delicious breakfast and a knowledgeable staff and you have my favorite place in The Berkshires.
WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!
Kathleen Lon 23/04/2017 21:36We stay at Rookwood each time we come to the Berkshires. Each visit has been more delightful and relaxing than the last!! The rooms are lovely, homey and very comfortable and the breakfasts are better each visit!! Amy and her staff are so very friendly and accommodating - it feels like a home away from home!
The best we've experienced!!
Kelly Mon 09/04/2017 21:29The Rookwood Inn is by far the best B&B experience we have had! We stay exclusively at B&Bs and The Rookwood Inn has landed at the top of our list! The inn itself is beautiful from the living room to the dining room to the lamp on the newel post at the bottom of the stairs! The period furnishings in every room add to the amazing ambience!
A common refrigerator is provided for guest use, there is always tea and coffee available, and there were treats - cookies, etc. - 24 hours a day! Small pitchers of both milk and half & half were in the fridge too!
I had reserved a room with a bath with claw foot tub but the room was too warm for our liking. We mentioned it in passing at breakfast and were immediately offered a room - also with a claw foot tub - that was an upgrade at no extra charge. We were able to control the temperature in that room and it was much better!
The food was delicious - one morning scrambled eggs with peppers and spinach in parmesan cheese cups with bacon and the other Belgian waffles and sausage. Both started off with a fruit course. There were 6 juice options and great coffee!!
The weekend at The Rookwood Inn was for a birthday getaway and I added the birthday package which included a cake for 2, flowers, and sparkling cider. Imagine our surprise to learn the beautiful Rookwood Inn toasting glasses were ours to take home!
We also purchased Rookwood Inn mugs - the nice heavy stoneware kind - as another way to remember our wonderful weekend!
All in all a definite 5/5!! Cannot wait to return!
Nice place but needs some updating
Monica Pon 17/03/2017 01:30The Rookwood Inn has excellent staff. Jen and Kati were a delight. We went in the middle of March. There's not a lot to do but we were excited to get away. I choose one of the most expensive rooms which had with a fireplace that, unfortunately, we couldn't use it due to the high winds. Jen and Kati offered to move us to another room that had gas fireplaces but those rooms are only on the 3rd floor and being a victorian there aren't any elevators. The breakfast was delightful and Jen and Kati did everything to make our stay a enjoyable including finding us a charger for our phones that we had left behind.
I have to say though that you pay a lot if you get an non-renovated room...especially in the truly 'dead' season. The bathrooms were tiny and out of date, the toiletries weren't a high quality, the rug was soiled and the TV was a 22" from the 90's. I would recommend that the owners charge less for the non-renovated rooms. I would also recommend upgrading the toiletries to a quality/healthy brand and use more farm to table food. The Inn itself is beautiful and it has so much going for it - especially with Jen and Katie there, we'd be happy to return someday.
