What People are saying

A bit of both

Good news this hotel has smoking rooms, free parking and free Wifi, the rooms are a good size for a hotel and clean.
NO A/C so can become very hot no tea/coffee in room this place isn't just a hotel. It's also an old people's retirement home, breakfast expensive for what they offer, the hotel is around 3 miles from Aachen city centre, staff friendly, while we were at the hotel the bar had no beer, would we stay again maybe.

why only three stars, cost of breakfast too high, no A/C

Weird place!

Okay, so this place isn't just a hotel. It's also an old people's retirement home, and back packers place and some "normal" people live there permanently too - the rest is used as a hotel.

Very, very strange.

We asked if the pool was open and were told its kept closed so residents can't use it, but they could open it for us.

They wanted €13 for breakfast - pricey given the old people type hospital seats you're expected to sit on.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

Aachen itself was a bit of a dump, I headed for Maastricht after just one night and I'm so pleased that I did, much much nicer city!

Nice hotel near city center

Perfect location near to the city center of Aachen, large clean room.
Only bad experience is that it took us like 14 min to find the room as it was located in an external building outside the main lobby.

Park-like Setting

The hotel is the first 2 floors of a retirement home 10 minutes from the Aachen city centre by car. Spotless clean. Very quiet inside (room well insulated) and ouside with the exception of the large group of crows living in a couple of trees just behind the hotel making a lot of noise (it's probably the season) we could hear through the open window. Good breakfast selection and a nice restaurant (and sunny patio where we served ours). The guy serving breakfast (and later on at the bar) was right on. All receptionists were polite but only 2 out of the 3 we met were helpful (the 3rd one looked rather bothered by my 2 questions such as what restaurant he recomends). They all spoke/understood English. The surroundings are very green and nice and especially at this time of the year lots of trees and shrubs were in bloom. Very nice. Will return and would recommend. For the rather low price of the room (which is quite large BTW), for the surroundings, the breakfast, for the restaurant patio and for the cleanliness.

Good stopover - but that's all.

Good place for a stopover. I stopped here on way back from Prague and it's about a three or four hour drive to the EuroTunnel. Rooms are bright, modern and airy. Have to agree with the reviewer who complained about the internet not being free - not only do you have to pay for it but it has a 500meg cap so forget being able to watch Netflix or anything like that (and all the TV has is the BBC World channel. Bleugh. Night I was there restaurant and bar closed at 8.30 by the way.
