What People are saying

Adequate Room For a One Night Stop

Raechelannon 01/07/2017 05:56

I was traveling with a school group and we took up most of the hotel. The rooms were clean. The dinner and breakfast were well prepared. The staff was accommodating but not what I would call friendly.

The biggest issue we had was the heat. It was 85 degrees and the rooms had no A/C so us Americans who love our cooling units had a very hard time sleeping in the hot and stuffy rooms. If the weather was cooler, I am sure we would have enjoyed it more. I did sit on the front patio for a beer, and the breeze was nice.

Convenient to Train Station

Jelahtion 11/06/2017 00:29

This hotel is right across the street from the train station which makes it extremely convenient if you arrive by train. Our room was in the building next to the hotel and was pretty basic but quite comfortable. The hotel does not have air conditioning but the room was comfortable with the window open and since we were in the back was very quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good with the usual items. Hotel is about a pleasant 10 minute walk from the city walls.

Opposite the train station (just across)

I was travelling to many cities in Germany so mostly get on DB train, so I decided to choose this hotel...when we reach it just across the road. Its' not time to check in yet but we can left the luggage there at the restaurant room. The lady who is at the reception is very kind as we did buy breakfast but they open at 7am but our train is at 7am. so we couldn't eat and she return the money back to us.

There is elevator, the room is clean and ok, the only complains will be the bathroom which is very cold inside (even try to turn on the heater ..I went there first week of May) and when you take a shower which is in the tub there is only 1 small mirror so its like the whole floor outside the bathtub is wet easily. (water splash out when shower).

In the next morning we have leave the hotel around 6.50am as we have to get on the train when we come downstairs there the room was close so we have to knock or ring the bell...we just need to return the key as we deicided to pay for the room since we check in, there was a tall man open the door then said its not time yet have to wait until 7 am... and then shut the door to us!

We was shock!...how rude and we need to catch the train!...lucky we found one guess which saw the whole situation and said we can leave the key with him and he will pass it for us.

Double charges!

Rosann Yon 20/05/2017 14:11

Watch your visa with this hotel. We paid cash for our room when we arrived, but after we left they charged our visa for the room again. We contacted them and asked them to reverse the charge on our credit card, but after several weeks (and several reminders) they did nothing. We eventually had to contact our credit card company to dispute the double charge.

Great location, good stay

I chose this hotel because it is right across the street from the railroad station, and I needed a place to stay for one night and still have a decent amount of time to see the town. I got a room for about $45, arriving in mid-afternoon from Vienna with 3 changes of train and a heavy suitcase. First of all, I wanted to take a quick nap, but found that one of the window shades didn't work. I called the front desk, and within minutes, someone came up, took a look at the shade, and II was assigned a suite-sized room.
The hotel public areas were a little worn at the edges, but my room was fine. The breakfast, for 8 Euros extra, was a vast spread of the usual German cold cuts, eggs, self-serve unlimited coffee, and was well worth the price.
I had enough time to visit the old town twice--once in the afternoon, and once for the tour with the night watchman on the day of my arrival. I didn't go again the next day because it was raining.
Although checkout was at 11, I chose to sit in the lobby while waiting for my train, although the management is happy to hold luggage for those so inclined.
There is also a pub in the basement that, when I was there, catered to a young crowd on a Friday night.
