Family visit

Our second visit to this hotel. Stayed in the ascot suite. Deco was lovely. Room was large with plenty of space for our children. (Could have done with being hoovered after previous guests!) Beds were comfortable and we all had a good nights sleep. Little things in the room could be improved i.e if more than one adult is staying maybe pop two pairs of slippers in the room, there was only one packet of biscuits to share between a family of four-just things to think of to improve the stay. Breakfast was good, but was not replenished quickly enough for the number of guests that were there. We ate at the bar one evening. Food was excellent but rather expensive. Can really recommend the desserts-the were fab! Gardens were lovely and the children really enjoyed the games-thank you.

Facilities Lovely, Staffing & Service has much to be improved..Disappointed.

One night stay (Saturday) at short (3 days) notice. We fancied somewhere calm but luxurious to stay. Wasn't my first choice (the others were fully booked). Arrived late & the night staff were courteous and helpful - even enjoyed a late night drink, before heading off to bed, in one of the "Comfy" Rooms, which was spaceous, light, airy and fresh. Had a lovely night's sleep & headed down for Breakfast & this is where it started going wrong:
1. Rude Hostess in the Fork Buffet Breakfast. Requested drinks and a la carte breakfast menu & was told "That's not my job, grab a waiter when one goes past..."
2. Breakfast Buffet - helps if there's food in the dishes, to choose from. Bacon - None left, Baked Beans - None left, Tomatoes - 1/2 of one left. I was one of many Guests, trying to catch the attention of the Staff, to get some fresh food brought out. The number of times the Staff were asked to replenish the bread, the Hot Buffet etc. was frustrating.
3. Check Out. Took me 20 minutes to check out. Only 1 x desk was "manned" - there are 2 stations & there was an almighty scramble, with no order & no semblance of care for the Guests being inconvenienced. Asa result Guests just queue jumped, much to a number of other's horror. When I summoned the Duty Manager (again, after the Poor Breakfast experience) & pointed out the lack of staff, I was politely informed my disappointment was noted. There would normally be 2 x staff at the Front Desk, but nobody came to try and ease the load on the one Member of Staff.

In summary - had a drink, really helpful night staff, shockingly inattentive Breakfast Team & overloaded and disorganised Check Out. Actually felt sorry for the very "Young & Inexperienced" Staff, as I'm not convinced they were sufficiently Trained & Skilled to deal with so many Guests; coming and going.

Unlikely I'll ever go back - it wasn't my first choice, but it "looked lovely and had so much potential to delight." So disappointed, having enjoyed a lovely, late night arrival & a very unimpressive morning...

Maybe it was so poor, because there was a Wedding Party. But then again, shouldn't the Hotel have been staffed to accommodate? It's not like the Hotel is new to this, they actively promote themselves as being a "Luxurious Wedding Venue". Such a shame.

legoland visit

Great location for those visiting Legoland and surrounding area. Lovely grounds and beautiful hotel. Onsite parking helpful and friendly staff. We didnt get the bed set we requested: we asked for a double and two single beds in the family suite and got given two double beds. On request the staff placed a single fold up bed in the room which then meant we had less room to move.

Legoland escape

We stayed here as part of the legoland package and for the most part it really was excellent value for money and a beautiful place to relax in after a busy day in legoland. The grounds are lovely, the food is beautiful and the majority of the staff are some of nicest we've ever been served by (worldwide). However I couldn't rate this 5 stars based on the following: 1. An extremely rude and abnoxious bar man who felt the need to belittle me in front of other residents AND 2. A very haphazard serving of breakfast with multiple items not being replenished at all including basic things such as white toast, juice, mushrooms and sausages. Nevertheless this did not spoil our little getaway and the quality of the evening meal, the beautiful grounds and the comfortable room more than made up for the negatives encountered.

Ok but far from great ! Wouldn't stay again

We spent Sunday night at the hotel and stayed in a family room . On arrival it looks lovely but didn't get a friendly welcome as we normally do in hotels or given times of dinner and info just handed key and a point down the hallway to direct us .
No room service at all! So if you like this option which most hotels offer they don't!
Very expensive bar £7.50 for a can of Guinness out of fridge not even on tap and £8.50 for a small pimms .
Staff not overly helpful or friendly , I think we were lucky to get a hi on our night there.
I asked what time lego land opened in the morning being it's a legoland recommended hotel and they had no clue and didn't care to find out , don't get me started on breakfast I'm not picky but it was the worst I've ever had! I asked for poached eggs and they came out hard and cold !
Information booklet in room was paper stapled together , no information on local area !
One pack of biscuits for a family in room for 4 people ?? , no Fridge, just a space where on should be. Luckily our son isn't an child that needed a bottle !
We stay in hotels a lot all over uk and in the bathroom there were no shower caps or bubble bath , just the little things to make your stay little special . So I had to try and use the wall soap to spay in bath so we could have bubbles 😕
I can honestly stay I would chose a different hotel next time , based on customer service and what you get for your money.
If you want to pay £££ £and not get a lot then bonus but I'm sure there are far better 4* hotels in the area !
Oh and also not very professional to see the staff in there work attire playing football outside when there is no one to serve inside!
Disappointed.
