The Royal Cottage offered a great deal as a last minute booking and was very reasonable compare other hotels or private accommodations in the area close to the city center during the high season. There wasn’t an extra charge for the car park, important to know when traveling along the south coast of France by car.
Cassis with its hiking trails to nearly all attractive bays are breath taking as well the mountain hike to the view point.
Needless to mention the turquoise crystal clear waters offered a great refreshment during the hot summer days.
Sometimes it’s simply the accommodation who makes such a nice place memorable in addition.

This hotel is clean, comfortable and a fairly easy walk into town. An added bonus is the pool. We chose not to buy the breakfast as we could buy a pastry, coffee and baguette right in town for much less. After breakfast they put the leftover pastries in a basket on the front desk for guests to help themselves.
My only complaint was that my husband made the reservation the night before (at about 9 p.m.) we were planning to arrive and accidentally gave the wrong date of our arrival. The next day we arrived and the first woman who greeted us at the desk kindly began to explain they had expected us the night before. An older woman (the manager?) jumped in and somewhat rudely said we had made a mistake and would have to pay for the room. I understand it was our fault, however, I doubt they had turned anyone else away at that time. I think charging us 1/2 price would have been more fair. She also was not very sympathetic.

Good price quality mix. Breakfast is oke, no diner. Lunch is possible at the nice swimmingpool. Rooms are oke as well. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Hotel has a garage and private outside parking. Perfectly located on 5 minutes walking of the harbour and beach, where you find plenty restaurants.

We stayed for four nights with our 2 sons (age 8 and 7). We shared a duplex room with a double bed on mezzanine level and sofa bed downstairs. Although a bit snug with the 4 of us the hotel has made very sensible use of space. There is a separate loo from the bathroom and a huge terrace. This felt very private and had a lovely view to the sea. The room (301) was right next to the lift which worried us at first but we didn't hear it once - the room was nice and quiet.
Breakfast was lovely! So much choice and we all ate well each morning.
The pool is the absolute highlight of this hotel - it is gorgeous! Plenty of sun beds and all spotlessly clean. Great little pool bar serving lovely food, drinks and ice creams.
We were worried about the location of the hotel as it is slightly out of town and up a hill. We shouldn't have worried - the location is perfect! Out of the hustle and bustle of the centre of town but literally a few minutes walk. Even our two young boys (who are SO lazy) didn't complain about the walk!
All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Overall we were very impressed with the hotel. It felt much more than your average 3* and we would definitely stay again (hopefully soon).

Lovely small hotel , only 6 min walk to the harbour area of Cassis. With very friendly staff and a beautiful swimming pool, this is a highly recommended. Rooms are lovely and comfortable. Parking is available and only 6 min walk to centre of town and all the harbour restaurants.
