Great Hotel!!

We spent four days in this hotel and it was terrific. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The food was excellent. And the staff was very accommodating throughout the hotel. The one downside, if one can call it that, was the language barrier. They don't have a lot of English speakers on staff, so you are at moments blunted in your progress, but you eventually get the task at hand taken care of. Near to a play center (great ferris wheel) and outdoor park with trails, ponds and rides for children. They are also quite near to city center. Walking would take too much time, but it's a short taxi ride. And there are enough good restaurants to keep one busy into perpetuity.

This looked as if it had been a first class hotel in its day but now it is a bit tired looking. Great position for the UK passport and visa center as well as some excellent restaurants and shopping malls. Good position for the metro to the airport. Comfortable room and good breakfast. Down side a mouse ran out of the kitchen into the breakfast room and three or four staff chased and stamped up and down till one of them flattened the mouse right in front of where I was sitting. Not what I wanted to see when I was eating.

Two nights at Royal Hotel

Service and facilities are pretty good! It looks a bit old overall but once you go into the rooms, it gets better. The bathroom is very nice, i had both a bathtub and a fancy shower as well as an enormous bed.

Central Hotel in Guangzhou.

Hotel Royal in Guangzhou is a typical China hotel, with big rooms and big baths. It is centrally located in the business district of Guangzhou and if you book through any Chinese side or through a friend in China, this hotel quite affordable. The beds are very hard as always in China.
Quick in and out check. The staff friendly and helpful, but pretty bad at English. The breakfast is not anything to brag of.

Hotel was average with all the necessity. Location wise was great and value for money if you do not expect much. For China brand hotel, Hotel Royal has kept the maintenance well. Not much interaction from the staff except the chef at the eggs station who has tried his best to cope with the demands. Ask for a room away from facing the Main Street as all the cars horn sounds will wake you up early in the morning. Short walk to the shopping areas which can be accessible through underground passage to all different direction.
