A nice hotel in Craiova

- Old building, nicely restored;
- Located very close to the historical center – 5 minutes’ walk;
- Very polite staff, ready to help at any time;
- Well-equipped room (robe, slippers, minibar, air conditioning, large bed with mattress with medium hardness, TV with many channels, international included, wi-fi ok);
- Varied breakfast which included homemade dishes (rolls, bruschetta, Romanian style stew)
Drawbacks:
- PVC was used instead of wood for windows and doors which is a loss of authenticity;
- Small TV;
- Lightening in the bathroom was dim because only one bulb was functioning; also, the radio in the shower was not functional.
All in all, this hotel will be the first choice when / if we are back in Craiova.

piticutzion 07/05/2017 21:36Nice rooms, though not necessary the biggest one I've seen. Well maintained, good looking furniture, real artwork, nice bathroom and amenities.
No noise at all & very nice staff.
The breakfast was hearty (buffet) and the deserts great 😀
I would return here anytime!
Contra: May not be the best hotel in town for those with disabilities as all rooms are at the first floor and there is no elevator.

Catalin Bon 04/05/2017 06:50City center hotel, comfortable rooms with all you need available. Great personal ready to help. Plenty to choose from breakfast. Considering the prices Royal is definitely a place to stay while in Craiova.
Beautiful old hotel

I love the old character hotels rather than the chains and this is a lovely one.
Although being late down each morning for breakfast there was still plenty of food left.
Very kind and welcoming place
Viktor Kon 26/03/2017 20:21We spent one night there catching a flight next day. The two brothers who ran the hotel, (and maybe were the owners) were extremely nice and helpful. We got our wake up call on time, our packed breakfast and they didn't charge us for the extra bed for our son. We have been here before and this was our second stay and we were again not disappointed. The rooms are comfortable and the late 19th early 20th century architecture and interior of the hotel give it an extra cosiness and appeal. Excellent location, too. All for a reasonable price.
