Very unhappy
savannah mon 06/08/2016 20:27Our room was less than okay the smell and air in the room made my athsma kick in for a not so comfy night, not clean at all bath tub had a weird rusty outline everywhere and woke up itching everywhere . The staff wasn't very friendly when we asked for a refund for the next night (in which we hadn't stayed yet)and refused . Definitely not worth the money.
Very clean but only one meager soap and the AC barely cools the room on full blast
Horation Hon 09/06/2016 06:11Very clean room. They left me only one soap, which means I have to carry it from the shower to the sink. Now that's cheap. Also, the AC comes on and then cycles off very quickly while the room is still warm. That's also cheap. What's up with this place? It's not cheap this weekend, but they sure seem to be penny pinching.
Old, outdated, and not secure!
Susan Con 31/12/2015 00:25No deadbolt. Had to brace chair under door knob. Clean, but VERY outdated. TV was REALLY old. No holder for toilet paper. Not a good part of town. No continental breakfast - only coffee pot/coffee in room. Staff were pleasant.
Pleasant Stay
336kristinbon 02/08/2015 01:31Relatively close to the airport, decent price, nice proprietors, a short walk from Avis (saved $100 renting there instead of airport), clean with new mattress! Had everything I needed and I slept well! It's vintage, and that was fine with me. AC kept us cool and had plenty of hot water for showers. No complaints! And if stay here, make sure to visit the gourmet donut shop a couple doors down!
Still a bargain if your requirements are low and your expectations lower. :-)
TripAdJoeFon 27/04/2015 20:24My second review. We continue to stay here for the economy and location. The proprietor has gotten used to us and is a nice guy and friendly.
I just wanted to add some things as caveats.
In terms of security there's no peep hole to see someone knocking. You'll have to just peek out the window. The door has no dead-bolt just a typical knob like the kind you would find on a bathroom door which is known to be easy to sledge hammer off to gain access. Consequently for our stays that are only one night we don't move in and unpack until it's time for bed.
Discovered that one room doesn't have a sink in the kitchen so be sure to ask.
Hot water is usually abundant but if some spoiler is staying in an adjoining room and runs the faucet/shower all night then there can be a problem. Still old Tube TVs so forget about using HDMI dongles like ChromeCast . wifi is OK but I bring my own MiFi. ClearWire's WiMax here and in Eugene is excellant. Shame its going away soon. Will be trying Sprint MiFi next trip. Sometimes there are no hangers in the closet. Again : say to the guy that you are shopping around and ask for price and they will quote you a better number. Bring eyeshades if light bothers you and earplugs if trains are a problem for you too! Oh and bring paper towels with your food because you only get one little paper towel with the coffee setup.
I know this sounds like 'damning with faint praise' but I want people to be fore-warned so that this little establishment can continue to offer the bargain that it is.
