Hotel Royal Inn Puno
The hotel is very centrally located, it’s about thirty seconds from the main square in a narrow one way street. It’s a very comfortable four star establishment and the rooms all run off a central atrium up through which runs the chimney from the log burner stove in the lobby. The queen size beds in the rooms are comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep and the rooms carry all the usual amenities. The lobby is quite small with sofas and chairs scattered around and next to the log burner and the dining room and a bar are both accessed from here. The reception staff were helpful and efficient as were the porters. Coco tea and oxygen are available also (3810 metres/12500 feet). We enjoyed it here, it felt snug and warm.

Centrally located, poor heating system

The hotel is 5 minutes walk to the main tourist area, yet is on a quiet street. Our room is on the 4th floor, nice & clean and overlook the parliament of Justice. The hot water system took a while to heat up and a small heater is the only thing to keep the room warm. We have to move it close to our bed in order to be warm enough to sleep. Breakfast was below average, the food refilled a small quantity at a time even though there are plenty of tour guests , and they only gave us small plates to use. The staffs were nice and helpful. In short, the hotel served it purpose for a our 2 nights stay.

We stayed two nights in this hotel, the only good thing is the location. Awful room (we got a smokers room, being ugly in its fitout, smelly and loud (barking dogs in neighborhood all night), awful breakfast buffet (many tour guides seemed to eat here), bad service. Even with our complaint the staff could not deal and we did not get any answer (so awful in taking feedback).
I highly recommend to OMIT this place.

NO PONEN LA CALEFACCION

Frío, no conectan la calefacción, te dan un radiador, el baño sin calefacción, el aislamiento no existe, hotel caro, decoración antigua, desayuno malo, cuando dejas el hotel registran toda la habitación al detalle, por si falta algo, una cubitera de la habitación, delante de mi, la inspeccionaron minuciosamente porque tenia una muesca dudando si cobrarla o no, Un hotel nada recomendable.
Cold, do not connect the heating, you get a radiator, the bathroom without heating, the insulation does not exist, expensive hotel, old decor, bad breakfast, when you leave the hotel check the whole room to detail, if there is anything missing, a bucket of The room, in front of me, inspected it thoroughly because it had a notch doubting whether to charge it or not, A hotel not recommended.

very good location just off main square and pedestrian street with shops and restaurants and banks with ATMs. Room was fine, breakfast buffet had good coffee and local bread that was triangular pocket with light herbs. coca tea in lobby 24 hours. no mini fridge as I recall. bad--kept our passports in open tubes on the wall behind the front desk and they were not secure at all. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Best of the hotels on gate1 tour. did not need cabs while there--could walk to excellent restaurants or street food, quality hand-made baby alpaca shops or "alpaca" souvenirs and everything in between.
