Excellent location

Stayed with two other coupes excellent location next to Rochebrune cable car.
Hotel was very clean and rooms very nice even though the bathrooms are very small.
Ate in the restaurant and had a good meal at reasonable prices as Megève is very expensive to eat and drink. Walk into the centre of town which is lovely is a bout 5/10 minutes.
Overall I would recommend this hotel.

The room was great, the staff were very helpful we had a great time.
3 minutes from the ski lift and charming village
excellent place to stay for ski or summer mountain walking.
Jazz festival and great bars/restaurants were a great bonus

Convenient and friendly

Great location both for pistes and the town ( about a 5 min walk ). Our room was very clean and perfectly comfortable as was the hotel generally. Breakfast and dinners were fine but not special. We chose to eat in the town 3/5 nights. Many of the staff were very friendly and welcoming and extremely accommodating when we asked for a late checkout. My daughter used the spa which was ok but again, basic. Overall good value and we did have an enjoyable stay.

Good location, but some little niggles

We really liked the location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had little niggles that took the shine off our stay - there were errors in the bill for both nights that we eat in the hotel restaurant, the television was not properly fixed during our stay of 5 nights, the breakfast buffet was not quickly replenished. We expected a higher standard for what we paid.

Sadly Won't be back.

This is not the first time we have stayed at the hotel however it will be our last. We had returned to the Hotel after being promised a special rate by the owner as a result of excessive noise and other issues during our last stay.

Suffice to say that the special rate never materialised. We were told this was because we had reserved through booking.com rather than directly however we were not told this last year. If you have a bad experience and are promised a special rate on your return you expect this to be honoured. No if's no buts.

We were asked to pay the full amount of our stay on arrival - something which I have never been asked to do at any hotel anywhere in the world in all the years we have been travelling. Either bad cashflow or you are made to feel untrustworthy. Whatever the reason it is not good.

Our friends room was freezing on arrival (not a great issue but still not great) and during all her stay despite being unwell and several requests at the front desk her telephone did not work in her room.

On checking out I was incensed to learn that the special rate was not being reflected in a reimbursement of the amount expected but rather a 90€ reduction of our room service tab.

The staff on the desk apologised however it seems there hands were tied and were happy for us to leave with a bad taste in our mouths.

To make matters worse it was only during our transfer back that I rechecked our room service tab only to find we had been charged 50€ for drinks we hadn't had. This was only remedied by yet another exchange of emails.

All in all a great holiday marred by what could have been a simple honouring of what had been previously offered. We are not talking thousands of euros - we would have been back again and recommended to friends for its location etc but in all honesty will never be back and will certainly not recommend. Such a shame.
