Dropped in for food

Just stayed overnight in Carnforth so that we could visit a local scuba dive site. We didn't stay at the Royal Station Hotel we wish now that we had.
So Friday night we was looking for somewhere to eat and a drink and noticed that the Royal Station Hotel had had a face lift since the last time we visited so we popped in the bar area was busy but warm and welcoming I ordered drinks and asked about food and then a lovely member of staff Kerry brought us menus and explained that we could eat in the bar or go to the restaurant. We opted for the restaurant which has been redecorated and again warm, welcoming with a hint of romance soft music and candles etc. We had a starter and main course. The food was very good, hot and filling and left no room for a dessert when asked.
During our meal we spoke with Kerry about the hotel and what was happening and she was more than happy to explain about the renovations and future plans for the rooms and parking and offered to show us around some of the rooms when we had finished our meals.
The rooms that we where shown are all individually designed and looked to a lovely standard. Although renovations are ongoing I would have been more than happy to stay here and we will when we return next year.
Quick pint

Had a quick pint with friends before catching a train.
Nice selection of real ale mostly from North Lancashire or Cumbria well kept and a 10% discount for camra members as well. You can also go into the last drop bar next door which is part of the hotel.
extremely noisy, uncomfortable bed

extremely noisy, located right next to a busy train station and the main road constantly had lorries going past at night.
the bed was horrendous, metal frame and every time myself or my partner moved squeaked!also curtains were to small for window so had gaps and no nets or blinds. let all the street lighting into room.
Italian themed night

Saw the Italian night advertised on the Facebook page and my friend and I booked a table. We were not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly waitress called Kerry. The restaurant looked beautiful and the fireplace looked lovely with lights and a selection of Italian wines on display. Nice relaxing atmosphere and the food was fantastic. Throughout the meal Kerry kept checking on us and was lovely chatting to her. The prawn starter was very tasty as was the rhubarb Pannal cotta. We would definitely go to another themed night and we have also booked for Christmas day. 😃
