Unnacceptable behaviour before arrival
John Gon 27/08/2015 10:04We booked a room via booking.com a week before our arrival. Two days before that they cancelled our reservation because of a credit issue. We told them that 2 days was a really short notice in order to find accomodation in Paris (in AUGUST) and that we could give a deposit up to the point that my card is topped and then arrange the rest of the amount via maestro/cash (REALLY small difference).
We tried to contact them 3 times and the service was totally unacceptable/rude leaving us without any choice but cancel it 2 days before the arrival and with arranged travel tickets.
Small and compact apartment, but good location
NCGon 09/06/2015 21:20We chose a deluxe studio of the range available at Residence Aurmat, which was very conveniently located for Roland Garros (10 minutes walk). Our apartment was at 16 Rue De L'est, which was one on its own. A lot of the apartments are located at the main office at 106 Rue De Paris. Our apartment was 10 minutes walk from check in. We had to climb a shabby winding staircase to the second floor to reach our apartment, which had its own front door. The apartment is very small but well fitted out in 'Ikea style' furnishings. It was modern and clean with adequate facilities (exactly as described on booking.com). There was only one comfy chair to sit on and the bed pulls down from the wall. My biggest complaint would be the quality of the bed. The mattress was very firm and dipped in the middle so for two people it was very uncomfortable and only two flat pillows were supplied. The bathroom, although small, was well fitted and the shower was a good quality rain shower with separate lift off shower head on a hose. A decent hairdryer is supplied and there is plenty of storage. The towels are a bit small and thin. In the living area there is a wardrobe with hanging and shelf space, and drawers. There is a dishwasher and a fridge and a decent supply of glasses, crockery and utensils. The fridge is noisy though and we had to turn it off at night as it kept us awake. The TV is on a shelf beside the window and above is another shelf with a sharp corner. My husband banged his head on the corner of the upper shelf when bending to pick up the remote control causing a nasty gash. I would suggest that a bumper needs to be fitted to the corners of the shelf due to the compact size of the apartment! I definitely recommend the location especially for the tennis, but for a couple the space is very limited and there is no guarantee of a decent night's sleep die to the uncomfortable bed. However the area is quiet (well it is next to a cemetery!). There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance too.
Comfortable
Brijesh Son 13/09/2011 15:36I had a single studio for 4 nights at 67 euros per night which was seemed to be about 10-20% expensive than what I would have liked to pay
Positives:
Room, lobby and stairs were neat and clean. Bed was comfortable.
For someone who would return for a comfortable night's rest after a long day's venture into the city, this room served its purpose
Negatives:
Bathroom is very small though neat, felt almost like getting into a closet
