Receptionists very friendly and speak excellent English. Waiting staff do not and menu is only in German so some difficulties experienced.
Room slightly on the small side but clean fresh and well appointed.
Restaurant closed on our first night but good food and breakfast is good continental; value for money, plentiful and wide variety.

A safe choice in a lovely town

We stayed over in Ruhpolding many times as a stop over to/from Italy and tried a number of hotels. The Ruhpoldinger Hof is on par with the others, perhaps the hotel accross the street has now taken a advantage in terms of modernization (Zur Post). Having said that, the rooms are still good and spacious, especially the ones on the 3r floor provide great value for money. Staff is friendly, the restaurant pretty good and the pool area is comfortable and functional.

Staff Restaurant experience

This is purely about the staff serving outside of the hotel. I have not stayed at this hotel but have eaten there many times over several years. In the past the staff, especially the head waiter who I believe is Hungarian, have always been very friendly. However, this year on arriving for our booked table outside under the canopy, our previously friendly head waiter came to our table and said something about BREXIT. Because we were English he seemed very rude and didn't even stop to ascertain that our party of four had actually remained to stay in the EU, not that was relevant to us wanting to eat. My husband speaks excellent German and has in the past had long conversations with this guy and he requested an English menu for the rest of us who only speak English, which we have done many times before. The waiter went away and never returned with the English menus and sent another young lady to serve us. She wasn't particularly friendly until it came time to pay and TIP, then we had a smile.
We will not be going to the Ruhpoldinger Hof again as there are plenty of good restaurants with very friendly staff in Ruhpolding.

A central Ruhpolding Hotel that goes that extra mile

Fantastic 4 night stay in an 'apartment' in Ruhpoldinger Hof. Super, clean room with an adjoining sofa bed room for our toddler. This was in the main hotel, I believe they do have proper apartments with kitchenettes near by.

Beautiful sun terrace with gorgeous mountain view. The staff were so helpful, friendly and paid attention to detail.

Breakfasts in the newly refurbished breakfast room were excellent, buffet style, with a selection of breads, meats and cheeses. Best of all, a variety of homemade jams.

Pool under the hotel is really peaceful.

The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesday evenings. We have eaten there many times, and found the food simple but delicious, especially there asparagus menu. The restaurant, in typical style of that region is quite dated, but you will generally find that all over Ruhpolding and surrounding

Our bathroom had all amenities but no window so it was quite dark. Didn't bother us hugely.

Overall a really great, family friendly hotel with super staff in a really central location.

Also worth noting, the Extra Kart is really useful with buses and attractions etc...they will give you one on reception and impart loads of helpful information.

Lovely hotel in fantastic, scenic small town

We just spent a fabulous 6 nights at the Ruhpoldinger Hof (family of 5 - 2 adults & 3 children)). Rooms spacious and comfortable, buffet breakfast included and good, hearty meals in restaurant. Staff - without exception - helpful and friendly. We used hotel bikes to explore Ruhpolding and wider area which was great.

Ruhpolding such a lovely place for a family holiday: beautiful scenery; excellent cycle and walking routes; lots of great eateries, ice cream shops and places for a cool beer. Amazing Freibad with fantastic views of Alps and great mini golf course.
