Wonderful
Deborah Son 03/08/2017 04:27So green and calm! Close to town, yet still felt very 'secluded.' Great food & lovely, relaxing, bug-free outdoor dining. Room and bed were plenty comfortable.
Online map made touring the complex for lake-view rentals very easy. We were not even golfing - just staying overnight on our way north into Oregon and still had a wonderful time.
Very comfortable
mdnewman1on 01/08/2017 23:49We stayed here due to location and amenities that were offered, two bedroom condo pool, spa and golf although we did not play.condo was very nice and comfortable, staff was very helpful and professional,a good experience.Except we had to pay $ 5.00 per day for wi-fi,hard to believe after what we were charged for the room, should be FREE!And the reason they did not get an excellent rating.
Disappointed
Robert Don 01/08/2017 22:58For the money spent.
At 200.00 per night I guess I was hoping for more.
I never could get the front desk to answer the phone. I had to chase down a maid to get the room cleaned. They did, once asked.
The small suite was spacious but it could have used some updating. No blankets in the room for the fold out couch. As it was late the first night we made do without a blanket by turning up the gas fireplace.
The hotel itself is nice but we just could not get into the vibe. Tried the restaurant on the deck but were surrounded by people who had been drinking and were very loud. We left the scene and had dinner in town.
The grounds offer a lot of different options for a person to enjoy but I guess we had unreal expectations.
Stunning Facility and Great Views!
Kaelen Kon 01/08/2017 21:10My husband and I planned on staying here on a whim; we drive up to Black Butte every summer with our family and this year we thought why not take advantage of our Saturday and break up our drive from 8 hours to 4 hours.
This resort reminds me of the Magestic (Formerly Awani) Hotel in Yosemite except a bit more modernized. The entrance has high ceilings and immediately getting out of the car it smells like pine needles! Our room was spacious, clean and we had a balcony. All of the staff members were extremely nice and welcoming.
My only qualms were that we kept getting glasses with lipstick still on it or they didn't seem entirely washed and for how large of a resort it is, I would like to see them expand their patio area with more outdoor fires and seating. We had no where to be and our reservation was last minute, so waiting for a table outside was fine, however there were not other areas outside that we could enjoy our drinks.
If you are into golf, i highly recommend the mini golf course - it's more for adults - they are super hard! And we didn't get to play a round of golf, but the course looked exquisite. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the scenery, I highly recommend the Running Y. ALSO they are pet friendly!
More of a 3 star hotel then an ranch
EpicuriousTouriston 01/08/2017 03:18The hotel is nestled in a planned community- not a ranch as the name implies. Limited food and beverage options. What is REALLY odd is the pool and hot tub setup. You must LEAVE the hotel building and walk a few hundred feet to another building where there are lockers for members of the community as this pool complex serves hotel guest and members of the planned community. The members were not pleasant people-- perhaps they objected to the cross usage of "their" pool as I heard. Nonetheless, the room was comfortable and it is a clean hotel and grounds. Wifi was horrendous -- dropped in and out all the time-- as in many times a minute at its worst. Parking was a challenge and there was no real view per se from rooms. Off the beaten path from Klamath Falls but easy to get to. If you like Thai food check out the Thai Orchid downtown.
Overall, not bad but definitely not a ranch. Star-watching was night in the clean crisp night air.
