Exceeded all expectations - we'll be back for sure!
blaw101on 04/08/2017 22:06What a great place! The setting is incredible, the building and rooms are comfortable and stylish, but above all the professionalism and welcoming nature of the hosts makes this a real standout. Luis has perfect English, but was exceptionally patient with our developing Spanish and by the end of a week our language had come on no end. He was also perhaps one of the most generous and willing tourist guides we’ve ever met. Most people staying at Cuartamenteru (from a range of countries) were benefitting daily from Luis and Jorge’s advice. At breakfast on the amazing veranda, with a backdrop of the Picos mountains, we’d have friendly conversations with families, couples and lone travellers all thrilled by the area and what it had to offer. If you want to just take it easy, Poo is a peaceful, picturesque village with beautiful beaches and one very good sideria – but when it comes to seeing the area – if you’re an English speaker – ask Luis! We visited the mountains, had a SUP tour, saw some little-known blowholes and found excellent surf and sampled the various foods and drinks the area is famous for. This is somewhere we’ll be returning!
Friendly hotel
Johnucoon 03/08/2017 07:29This is the second time we have stayed at this great little hotel. This time we took our bikes with us. The hotel is quiet, cosy and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is served on a terrace with spectacular views of the countryside. What really sets this hotel apart from others is the people. Luis and Jorge really care about their guests having a good time and it shows in everything they do. They are very knowledgable about the area and can recommend a wide range of activities/places to suit all types of interests and all types of weather. Jorge helped us with some great bike trails and Luis gave us some great recommendations as well as clear and interesting information. Great hotel, really friendly people and a wonderful location
A very welcoming hotel
Andrew Son 07/07/2017 15:15The two cousins who run this hotel were friendly and helpful (looking up trains and booking taxis for us) - and spoke good English. A pleasant, quiet location only 15min walk from the Po coast (and beach). We had their home made tapas one night and had a tour of the orchard and cider press... and their enthusiasm for their young cider business was infectious. Well worth a stay, a good base for exploring the coast and lovely views of the mountains.
Camino Pilgrim Heaven!
kcappletarton 06/07/2017 19:38Difficult to express how much of a treat this characterful hotel was after countless days walking the wonderful Camino del Norte. Luis and Jorge are genuinely lovely people and we were made feel so welcome immediately. The area is stunning for beaches and walks along the coast and with its own Sidreria on site, what more could you wish for...don't hesitate to visit!
Hidden gem of a hotel
jeaniebhon 09/01/2017 20:01Small hotel in a lovely situation with views over the nearby mountains. Excellent rooms with comfortable beds. Very good quality breakfasts which can be served in the dining room or on the terrace in the garden. The Terraza was a lovely room to use in the evening to relax with a cup of tea. There is also a reading area with a large number of books of local places of interest. Luis and Jorge could not have been more helpful. They were able to suggest places to visit that we would never have found by ourselves. We had a wonderful week in Cuartamenteru and look forward to returning. Must try the cider next time!
