A port in a storm--literally
Paul Con 01/05/2017 19:26Had to find a hotel because the Great Missouri Flood of 2017 washed out the road home. Stumbled on this place. Very comfortable, well-furnished, and reasonably priced, especially at such short notice.
Overnight stop
Jakkrkon 11/04/2017 14:34Long night of driving. Decided to stop for the night. Wanted somewhere not near the hwy (noise). King bed was great. Pillows were nice and firm. Bathroom was clean. Room was clean and dark. We ended up sleeping 12 hours. Great little place.
Gemütlichkeit!
TravellingSaucyChefon 24/12/2016 21:42It's simply an old fashioned motel that does everything right.
Incredibly genial hosts, comfy chairs, adequate shower with a deep tub and finally a bed that is both supportive and feather-soft.
Whole class better than chains.
Good for catching a few hours of sleep.
WanderlustDuston 28/11/2016 18:01Normally I would rate this place as below average because of the condition of the room, but at the price point ($41) it was a good value. Stayed here on a cross country road trip for some shuteye. The room, 232, had 3 double beds in it and looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 60's. Judging by other pictures posted, some rooms have been updated. I had my doubts, but I checked for bugs and clean sheets, and it looked ok. Of course I didn't use the comforter, but as a rule of thumb, I never do at non-corporate motels for hygiene purposes. I got there late, around 1 AM, and just slept for a few hours then left. FYI, if I were with my girlfriend, she would have made me find a nicer place... Very friendly owners though.
Wobbly
YFNETMon 05/11/2016 05:08I walk with a cane, but they only had rooms upstairs so I had to drag my suitcase and breathing machine up the stairs. The I had to fight to get the door to open.
It was clean, but took forever to cool off. The bed was OK, but hard with half flat pillows. The a/c helped kill the road noise somewhat.
Breakifast...was there breakfast? Oh, it was a couple kinds of cereal, coffee, milk, and packaged sweet roll. A nice quick snack to sustain me while I searched for Waffle House.
It was "OK" I guess, but not spectacular. If you're upstairs, don't leave your room after dark: narrow treacherous metal stairs and poor lighting. One misstepp, you'll go BOOM as I almost did.
